6.5 Creed - How Little Is Too Little Powder?

I did not; I'm just trying the other powder everyone loves, and recommends to see what it yields. I'm hearing that Varget is tad too fast for this cartridge, so I like to experiment.

6.5 Creed - How Little Is Too Little Powder?

I did load up some H4350 loads based on a lot of advice I got from my acquaintance and you guys. Well see how they shoot.

6.5 Creed - How Little Is Too Little Powder?

Understood. This is the 2nd group this size with this load. The other I think 3 groups were just a TAD larger than this with the other charge weights. The barrel's a rem varmint contour Douglas that I sent in the action to have barreled. Its not a finicky barrel to load for in my amateur opinion.

Alpha or Lapua SRP Brass-6.5 Creedmoor

YUP! Just like primers. "Which primer is better?" This aint the Trump days this is the Bidenomics build back better era; you shoot what you get. I shoot both alpha and lapua and see no difference. As far as brass life, I have a strong feeling the people here that experience long brass life...

6.5 Creed - How Little Is Too Little Powder?

Worked up a load doing what the manual told me to, (i think it was Bergers) which was to start at their lowest load and work up. It wasn't long after (i think my 2nd load ladder) that I started to get sub .75" groups very easily. I then took the 4 charge weights that were the smallest out of...

    Anyone Use Reduced Loads Here?

Understood. Yea initially what caused this thread, was that I was going to use some of those Tubb lapping bullets on some old jacked up bores just to see what they did, and so 1. I didn't want to waste good powder that I normally use on other stuff, on this little experiment, and 2. I didn't...

    Anyone Use Reduced Loads Here?

This is good to hear. Ok, since you know a lot more about this than myself, tell me this then- what's the lowest safe 6.5cm case fill for a powder with a rate like N140, varget, IMR4320, RL15 etc etc. I was going off of Berger's reloading book and heard that those safe starting minimum...

    Anyone Use Reduced Loads Here?

I'm doing some experiments and I'm seeing a lot of recipes for reduced loads, for example 14 grains of benchmark for a subsonic 30.06 from Hodgdons website. But then I keep reading people talking about there's just too much risk of 'flashovers' or detonation because of so little case fill...

Spotters Anyone Use Quick Detach Adapters for Their Spotters On Their Tripods?

Looking for the old school style where you just pushed it right on (with no locks), then, when you needed to take it off, you rotated a spring loaded lever and grabbed it off. Anything like that?

    Need help with scope selection

Do you have any mil/leo discounts available to you? If you did, some of the Leupold options outside the intended budget may be considered. Also, how good are your eyes? I ask because I'm at the age where a hunting scope and a target scope are COMPLETELY different these days. If your eyes are...

Spotters Anyone Use Quick Detach Adapters for Their Spotters On Their Tripods?

I was wondering if anyone used one of those QD type plates you used to see on cameras a long time ago; the dove tails jobs where you can just pop the male end into the female end, with the female side having a sprung lever for quick release. Could you share your set ups?
