    CCI BR4 primers misfires

    Greg I could question the quality of the powder since it’s fairly old but that wouldn’t cause a primer to not fire. Maybe could cause hangfires though. I’m checking every primer to be certain that they are seated flush but not crushed.

    105 Hybrid alternative?

    I always found Scenars to be easy to tune however I’ve been trying to get a new 6x47L to shoot and tried some of the 105 gr Scenar Ls and didn’t have much luck and they’re even more pricey than the Hybrids.

    Small quantities of ammunition to test?

    I buy a lot of ammo from Grafs but if you’re looking at lot testing in small quantities then I’ve not had any luck using them. I usually buy a couple of bricks and hope for the best. If it shoots great then I set it back for matches. The other gets used for practice.

    Using expanding mandrels - lube?

    I’ve been using the Tn neck turning mandrel from 21 Century that someone here recommended and I did 100 6x47L cases this morning without lubing the necks and no need for lube. Seating bullets after was smooth as butter.

    Scope bases

    I wouldn't care either way on the lug but you get what you pay for in rails. Some of the less expensive ones can be warped and the milling isn't quite to spec. I always buy NF, Seekins level of bases and rings. Theres no sense in buying a nice rifle and putting sup par rails and rings on it...

    I can’t say for the Steiner but I’ve had the SHV F1 and it’s a very good scope. Decent glass and tracking was good. The only down side for me was 5 mil turrets instead of 10 mil.
