How do CZ 22lr barrels compare?

I want to invest in a new 22lr bolt-action rifle for shorter range target practice. I wanted to ask what you guys think of CZ's barrels? I have some 22 cal CZ barrels on some of my PCP air rifles (which are the same or similar in size and twist rate to their rimfire barrels) and they are...

    Masterpiece Arms CZ455 Chassis

It's an interesting question on aluminum chassis vs Manners elite carbon fiber type stocks. If you look at the list of what gear the pros use, there is a mix of both in the top 10. The number one spot has consistently gone to Manners over the last few years though. Does that mean that carbon...

    Traininer Stocks?

Everyone is different but I see no reason why every stock should be the same. I can't speak for others but I am perfectly capable of learning to shoot well with a few different rifles and I can easily get used to more than one stock at a time. There are other factors though. The Manners and the...

    Gunsmithing "Webbing" a stock

I think there are some hydro dip options that are similar to that. That would be the easiest and fastest way to do it. Vinyl is another option if the pattern is fairly simple. isn't taste a funny thing.... I would pay extra not to have orange webbing or orange of any kind on my stocks. Maybe...

    Gunsmithing DIY glass bedding

Another vote here for the "if it ain't broke" approach. I'm not a fan of using room temp epoxy products for stock bedding. Most have a fairly low glass transition temp which, in real terms, means it's possible to cause warping from heavy use or leaving it in the car on a hot day. Many room...

    Gunsmithing Voids in Stocks?

It depends if you are trying to keep the weight down or not but the ideal material for filling voids in stocks imo is urethane foam. It comes as a two part liquid that turns into a solid foam in 5 mins when mixed. They come in various densities depending on how rigid or heavy you want it. An 8lb...

Carbon Wrapped Barrels - Heat Dissipation Question

I don't know much about the science but I know from first hand experience that carbon fiber parts pulled from a hot oven become cool enough to touch a lot quicker than steel parts. It's not even close. Carbon fiber parts suffer from far less heat distortion that steel parts too. As long as you...

GRS Berserk stocks worth the money?

There is no doubt that they look nice. I make my own carbon fiber stocks sometimes and I wouldn't mind using that pattern to make a mold at some point. It would be a nice stock if made in a decent material. when I have finished building my CNC machine, maybe I'll use it to make a stock in that...

GRS Berserk stocks worth the money?

On some of my guns, flex in the stock makes more a difference than others. I notice a difference more in precision rifles. I probably wouldn't notice much of a difference in a rifle with off the shelf average accuracy but then again, I wouldn't pay $600 to upgrade the stock on a gun that...

Gunsmithing Nightmare gunsmith Northwest Precision Rifles * REFUND RECEIVED

I think that the length of time between receiving the item and when the issues were reported back would be a huge barrier to getting anything back. Even if the payment had been through a secure service like PayPal or some credit cards, it would be well outside of their protection period. I...

GRS Berserk stocks worth the money?

Thanks. The flex doesn't surprise me with it being made of cheap materials like that. It's exactly what I was worried about. It must have been really annoying considering the price you paid.... It bugs me when manufacturers charge that much and then cheap out on materials. A simple google...

GRS Berserk stocks worth the money?

I was wondering what you guys thought about these GRS Berserk stocks and if they are worth the money? I was looking at some of their synthetic durethane stocks that sold for around $650. While they look nice, I can't help thinking that they seem like a budget product sold at McMillan prices...

What products can I add to Devcon in order to make it black?

Black resin dye. You can buy it on eBay. It's cheap and a little goes a long way. I use it with anything that cures when I want to change the color. E.g. Epoxy putty, epoxy resin, urethane plastic, bonds etc etc...
