    Re: Rings and Base for Remington 700 5R SS in .308 20MOA base and medium rings are the way to go. I tried mounting a higher ring set on the 5r but it makes the scope way too high and you would need a huge stock pack to raise the comb enough for it to make sense.

    Re: New Rem 700 w/5R barrel - .308 or 300 win mag? I have a 5R with a 24" barrel in .308 and paired it with a US Optics 3.2-17 MIL/MIL and it has been an amazing setup thus far. I think you'll be happy with the 5R in .308.
