    IMR 7828 t° sensitivity ?

Not as good as either of the Hodgdon Extreme Powders mentioned. It is temperature sensitive and my experience with it in 300 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag was it burns dirty compared to either of the Hodgdon powders mentioned. I like Retumbo better than H 1000.

Does my sized brass look GTG?

Not necessary if you are below SAMMI length. But ... trimming to the same length will eliminate one more variable if striving for accuracy loads.

    Excited and scared

You get to experience what I call .... The Pucker Factor .... happens to everyone who pulls the trigger for the first time on their handloads. For me it was a 300 Win Mag. I thought my a$$ was going to take a bite out of the seat on the shooting bench. Don't think Face Grenade and all the...

    ***.40 S&W crimp question***

What specific bullet are you using? The RNFP has no step. From the pictures on the Ranier website, the flat point and hollow point appear to have a step. If you are using one of those bullets make sure you are seating the bullets such that the step is flush to the rim of the case. I shoot...

RCBS Primer Crimp Swaging Kit (Die) Trick

Imperial Wax will be faster and a lot neater than any spray lube and it's concentrated right on the button where it's needed most. As to how many cases it will do before you need another application ... just depends on how dirty the primer pockets are. It takes only a very small amount and...

RCBS Primer Crimp Swaging Kit (Die) Trick

I like the idea of the pin gauge as a go, no-go tool.

RCBS Primer Crimp Swaging Kit (Die) Trick

I just put a small amount of Imperial Die Sizing Wax on the button. No problems.

Looking for good press options for the longer cartridges

Look for a used Redding Ultramag.

    Neck sizing question.

I cut open two 12 ga shotgun shells and dumped the #9 lead shot into a small shot glass sized container and sprinkled it with powdered graphite. Just stab the case neck into the shot cup a couple times and it's lubed plenty good enough inside and out for a conventional neck sizing die.

RCBS customer service has gone down the toilet!

My experience has been just the opposite. Great service from RCBS, crappy (that's an understatement) service from Hornady. Hope you get your issues resolved.

    Used Dryer Sheets

When you pull them out of your tumbler throw them in the fireplace and look at the colors. I get a lot of blue and green flames.

    9.3 X 74R - rim thickness question

Can someone please measure and tell me the thickness of the rim on 9.3 X 74R brass? Thanks.

    260 REM or 6.5 Creedmoor

Seems to me the more important question is - what is your choice of guns?

    New reloader seeking bench.

    Yes, very nice.

    Dies for 308

Where you will see your biggest benefit is with the bullet seat die. Forster or Redding with their tight tolerance sliding sleeve design are excellent. I prefer Forster. The design captures both the case and the bullet ensuring co-axial alignment before the bullet is pushed into the case...

Look what showed up in the mail from Nebraska today....

No load suggestion but sure would like to see a loaded cartridge with something familiar for reference in the photo. Good luck.

6.5CM Load Dev Pressure Signs Help

What you described is correct. The way the statement was presented it could be very misleading to new reloaders. Suppose you shaved 1/10" off the bottom of your FL sizing die and sized your case. Or worse, you bought a die set where someone had done that and you didn't know it was modified...

6.5CM Load Dev Pressure Signs Help

I will caution you this is not a true statement. You can chamber a 308 in a 30-06 and close the bolt just fine. Extreme example yes but he had a headspace issue that he has corrected. There is a lot more to proper case sizing than just being able to close the bolt.

    Which powder?

Do you have reloading manuals with load data? I start by selecting a bullet. For my loads I try and select a powder (for my chosen bullet) that has high velocity and low pressure. Hodgdon has a good very selection and they publish pressure data. You will be lucky to find one powder that will...
