    Hunting & Fishing Wyatt's first deer

    After several days of hunting my oldest son, Wyatt got it done. A single 123 scenar from my 6.5x47 through the heart at 104 yards did the trick. He turned 8 years old last week and now that he saw me take the spacers out of the A5 on this rifle I can see the wheels turning.

    Atlas or harris

    Re: .308 @ 1760.... The wind drift at a mile with m118lr is only 40% more than my 300 norma 220 smk load that is an absolute hammer at a mile. I agree that the 308 is not the optimum mile cartridge, but I fail to see how wind drift makes it anywhere near impossible.

    Re: This rifle eats scopes! In my personal experience ruger's supplied rings are often VERY badly out of alignment. Do the scopes have ugly ring mark when they come off? Have you installed the known good scope back on another gun to see if it started working again?
