We are our own worst enemy!!!

They need to solve they're dilemma of serving cold burritos before they make a grown up decision like banning scary customers. Seriously, I stopped going there because their service system is flawed. By the time your warm beans and tortilla gets to the end of the production line it's all stone...

    Jewel trigger problem

The trigger could be binding in the stock or bottom metal. It's not at all uncommon to have to make a larger relief in your stock or bottom metal when fitting a jewel.

    Gunsmithing The Kiss of Death

You can hold the working end with large diameter copper wire wrapped around so it will pivot as you indicate the first few inches with your rod or long stem DTI.

    Gunsmithing The Kiss of Death

They do! Well they drill the hole and then turn between centers. But you still end up with a barrel contoured between centers with a bend in the bore. The idea is to indicate the end of the barrel you are working on, in line for the first 3 inches. Gimble the working end in a 4-jaw and...

Gunsmithing PTG SA 700 1 piece bolt dimension, lugs to handle??

The pt&g bolts that we've used either drop right in to an uncut 700 or will after truing the receiver, removing only a few thou. from the receiver lugs. We did have 1 bolt that the lugs needed to be set back quite a bit to fit the trued receiver.

Gunsmithing PT&G bolt in 700 LA

It's not uncommon and don't force it. When your smith trues your receiver lugs, the bolt should cam over and close.

    Gunsmithing Devcon vs acraglass

I opened a container of Devcon 10110 and the lid to the hardener was very loose and the contents was very dry. This caused the mix to be grainy as you described. I called devcon and they sent a replacement. This was 6-8 months ago and since then they've added an air tight seal.

For 140's, I use Nos. bal. tips but in a 24" 7 mag and they've always been good for me. I get 3250 fps with 65 gr IMR 4350. Great out to 6-650 . 650-1000 I like the 168 Berger hunting VLD's w/ 65 gr R22 @ 3000. Both for hunting and hit hard for the ranges I use them.

Gunsmithing Cerakote on a Deviant action- question

We've gone both ways on coating the M16 extractor and coating don't seem to have any negative effects. On the subject of whether or not to coat the bolt body on a tight tolerance action this is what we do that works well for us. Bake proof tape from Brownells on the contact areas in the...

Here's a few pictures showing how we Cerakote rifles with tight tolerance receivers. This is a 7 Rem Mag built on a Defiance Deviant.
