    Build a Ruger American rifle?

I will when I shoot out the factory barrel, I'm around 400 rounds through it so it'll be a while. Not going to mess with something that works, at the stage I'm at the barrel money is much better spent on ammo.

    Build a Ruger American rifle?

RPR and RAP cocking pieces and bolt handles are the same and you can also use the same firing pin removal tool.

    Build a Ruger American rifle?

This is my Ruger American Predator stainless in an Oryx chassis. It's stock except for an Anarchy cocking piece and bolt handle. Shoots 1 1/2" at 200 with Hornady 140gr ELD. I topped mine with a bought on clearance PST II and even with an atlas bipod I have under 2k in a rifle that shoots...

Accuracy difference between 223 Wylde and 5.56 chambers

Back during the black Friday sale I ordered a 1-8 twist, 24" heavy profile prefit from Columbia River for one of my lesser (cheap) bolt actions. The factory barrel isn't bad, but it gets hot really fast and is a 1-9 twist. I just got the barrel (8-10 weeks turned into 4 months) and it isn't...

New Book on Long Range Shooting

Mine's for a hard copy and it's still still there, but it did change from preorder to not yet shipped and dropped from the first page to where it should be in the chronological order.

    Tikka T3 Thread

Going pick up my new 6.5 CTR tomorrow, I'll probably shoot it a bit in the original stock, but when the Cadex chassis comes in I won't have any use for the mag or bottom metal, lets talk.

    6.5 Creed or .223 ?? Deciding on a cross-over bolt action

6-24 x 50 Athlon Midas TAC, bought it used on the PX. I'm really impressed with the Athlon, glass is close to my PST II.

    6.5 Creed or .223 ?? Deciding on a cross-over bolt action

I have a Howa sa .223 in an MPA chassis and love it. It doesn't hurt that I got the action and chassis for less than what the chassis goes for. Easily under 1 MOA with 75gr Hornady Black and gets close to 1/2" @ 100 with Hornady 73gr ELD. It's so easy to hit a 10" gong at 600 (longest range I...

    MDT Oryx Chassis

You could also make a bag rider out of rectangular aluminum or steel tubing that can attach with two bolts into the flat section on the bottom of the stock. You could then fill with lead shot. If you heat the tubing with a small torch and melt the lead into one big ingot you wouldn't need end...

Rifle Scopes Is a Minox ZP5 worth the extra money over a Cronus BTR?

That's not really fair, you can easily demonstrate the differences, but what it would come down to is is it worth it to me and in that example the answer is no because I could never afford even a used AI, so RPR=shooting, AI= can't shoot what you don't have. My biggest issue with buying optics...

Rifle Scopes Is a Minox ZP5 worth the extra money over a Cronus BTR?

I know, I know, not another help me choose glass thread, but I have a comparison I haven't seen before. I've come into a little extra money and as most on here would do I'm going to use it to buy a new rifle. I'm going to do a CTR 6.5C in a Cadex Field Competition chassis and I need to decide...

Rifle Scopes Vortex viper pst gen 1

I have a 5-25x50 PST II on my RAP 6.5 and an Athlon Midas Tac on a Howa .223. I bought the Midas on the exchange for $500 and I'am really pleased. FFP, glass close enough to the PST II that I can't tell the difference, easy to set zero stop. If you want to stick with Vortex AA Optics have...

Rifle Scopes New Mk5HD 7-35...this dont look right...

Oil like substance on the scope, not a big deal. Oil like substance that reappears after you clean it off, big deal. You've got a lot of $$ in a scope that may have a problem, I'd send it back.

Rifle Scopes Time for a new scope because, why not?

You know jackasses like you are why I have to think twice before I start threads on this site. I have to weigh whether the bullshit responses like the ones you've posted are worth putting up with to get the information I need. The OP posed a perfectly reasonable question about warranty and...

    Rifle Scopes Athlon reticle question

Nope, 5-25x50 PST II bought about 6 months ago when they were on clearance when the new EBR-7C reticles were coming out. I never said the reticle was thick, only that the Athlon was thinner and the more I use the floating dot the better I like it.
