A brilliant bio of Willis 'Ching' Lee on one of Youtube's best channels: Drachinifel.
( A side note; Willis 'Ching' Lee was soundly beaten by Norwegian shooters from my club in the Running Deer events in the 1920 Olympics :) )
The SSG69 Sniper had to pass a test at the factory; 10 shots inside 10cm@300m.
The SSG Match; 10 shots inside 7.5cm@300m.
This was the testing regime at the end of the 70'ies.
Thre worst thing getting old is that even with the latest, greatest, new gadgets I can't match the results (offhand shooting) I shot 40 years ago with a bone stock Rem BDL Varmint topped with a Weaver T10/T16.
Regarding the buffalo videos.
As a kid I had a dream of sneaking an African buffalo into a Spanish bullfighter arena.. :-)
(As a kid I felt sorry for the bulls after attending a bullfight in Spain)
We have two 50m running boar ranges side by side and two 100m running deer ranges side by side.
All ranges have two position setup and MegaLink electronic targets so there are no pit duty.
On the boar ranges we can get app 20 shooters through shooting 20+20 mixed runs and 30 slow runs + 30 fast...
Back to the Leupold scope in the first post.
It looks like a 4x scope for 10m airrifle.
If possible on the Premier, DO NOT let the posts cross the centerline with the windage knobs.
To zero the scope on a rifle adjust the post tips as close as possible to the center in the field of view. The...
50m Running Boar. It is still my main event with app 10000 rounds downrange every year just to see what age do to my body..
Used to train one week a year some years in the '80'ies with US Shooting Team. Some of them were Vietnam vets ( and one of them had a picture of himself in Vietnam, in...
I can't see that on the pic properly but is it not advisible to angle the recoil lug sides a few degrees invards towards the bottom to avoid risk of damage to the bedding when the action is inserted and removed from the stock?
I'm always facinated by the ladder rear sight on the Art.Luger that moves alot sideways on the longest ranges to compensate for spindrift.
And it does it correct. I've tested it on extreme ranges in perfect conditions.
In 1980+/- I was sponsored by Winchester Europe and used a modified varmint M70 pushfeed in 222rem for the old Olympic event moving target, running deer, at 100m. I think Winchester owned Weaver ElPaso at the time and I was given a T10 and a T16 with target dot reticles. I still use the T16. I...

(Surf this website and look at the old sniperrifles they have for sale, Mauser 66, Walther JR, etc)
Get an "old" fixed 4x or 6x42 S&B with the old style rail usually used for claw mounts.
The rail fit straight on to the HK mount without rings.
If the scope then is too low for the rear sight get a new/spare G3 drum and modify it so it don't touch the scope.
Google pics.
I think that scope is too heavy for the HK mount.
The mount will loose zero between shots fairly quickly due to wear.
I've been through 3 770'ies and one SL6. And 6 mounts..
Can you please include the Sauer STR/SSG3000 to the action list?
There are thousands of rifles in Europe just waiting for a lightweight chassis.
I also recomend adapting this chassis to the Blaser R8 and charge $3995. It's still cheaper than Blaser's own carbon stocks.. 😎
