This is my 1914 DWM Navy Luger. It has the board stock and holster and also the sporting stock. It has a repro snail drum magazine and loader. It also has a repro ZF 41 scope with mount that I made. I made the two tiered Walnut presentation case. The gun shoots well with the snail drum and stock mounted.

Neat Lugar for sure with a lot of cool accessories...but I must say pairing it with a repo ZF41 scope creates a bit too much cognitive dissonance....

Does that qualify as an sbr?
No, an original Navy Luger is a specific exemption from the NFA classification as a SBR as the stock was part of the original design.

If a person has a pistol and an attachable shoulder stock, does this constitute possession of an NFA firearm?

Yes, unless the barrel of the pistol is at least 16 inches in length (and the overall length of the firearm with stock attached is at least 26 inches). However, certain stocked handguns, such as original semiautomatic Mauser “Broomhandles” and Lugers, have been removed from the purview of the NFA as collectors’ items.

Does it shoot well with the optic?

Lugers are up there with K31's in making a guy ask "You did WHAT? for a standard service weapon?". I suppose a lot of pre-40's era stuff is that way, too, though. Obscene amount of workmanship for old-world manufacturing. Very very few modern guns, even expensive ones have equivalent fit/finish.
