PRS Talk Cans, Brakes, Impacts & Trace

I have had a few really good shooters tell me they don't use their suppressor in competition because they can't see their trace. The assumption being that they can see trace with brakes. I can't see it either way and just got a 338 thunderbeast. I will never shoot without it again. I just enjoy...

Rifle Scopes Scope rings for steyr

They are very well designed rings. I used a bunch of different stuff over the years and about 2 years ago started using these at the suggestion of some other shooters. Never had any issues since switching. An added bonus they're easy to install and I think they assist with me getting the...

Root cause of Two group syndrome?

Absolutely. We are all different. The trick is how varying physiques can still employ solid fundamentals. That's what matters. Phillip Velayo gave me a tip this spring that helped me tremendously. I'm 6'6" 320 and the pocket as folks call it, was a death move that set off all kinds of...

Rifle Scopes Scope rings for steyr

I would consider ARC M10 rings.

Rifle Scopes Best scope mount for AR platform

I responded to the 'wont break the bank' part of your original post. That's where Burris and ADM come in. But they need some extra care to work in my opinion. If you look at a higher quality mount as sounds like above, that opens lots of doors. Nightforce unimount is one of my favorites. I...

Rifle Scopes Best scope mount for AR platform

QD is the weak link. Otherwise they're ok. Used them for two years in PRS. Then halfway through day two of Gap grind it failed. Cost me and my partner a top 10-15 finish. Live and learn.

Rifle Scopes Best scope mount for AR platform

Burris pepr is affordable. ADM ok. But I've had both fail. If you slightly lap the rings and tap rosin bag to scope where rings contact mount, you might be ok. I would personally avoid the QD models and get non QD version with bolts. ADM sells what they call GI bolts, so you can change their QD...

@Dilly9 Not illuminated. The illuminated reticle is thicker and was not my preference for long distance shooting.

    Triggertech 2 stage?

I love my triggertech diamonds, but for 2 stage, I have a few Huber triggers that won't be replaced. They are sweet.

Root cause of Two group syndrome?

I like the modified prone idea. I'm 6'6" 320 and my fundamentals suffered till recent overhaul due to adapting my physique to fit Hobbit benches. Lol. Bent over, bladed, and seeing top portion of my Rx eyeglass frames the previous norm.

    8x32 binoculars for under $200

I had Vortex diamondback in past, they were good. Seems around $200-225 on sale, bass pro perhaps. Bought Bushnell Forge last year, major upgrade in optical quality. Controls are better, smoother. Definitely a step up from my diamondbacks. Either way, I would be looking at black Friday...

Rifle Scopes Scope rings positioned right?

I see you having it forward a good bit. If length of pull, your physique, preference, etc needs the optic more forward to achieve a better view through optic, just be aware you can go to a one piece cantilever mount which are common on ARs. This will put optic more forward. 1.5" is a common...

Just dropped my Dasher in my MasterPiece arms chassis. I've been testing the foundation stock vs the MasterPiece arms chassis a little bit recently. Going with the MasterPiece arms chassis for my next match. Like everything they both have their pros and cons.

@koshkin Coban, elastic medical gauze. No sticky residue. Cheap scope protection. Feels good in hands also. Amazon sells all kinds, colors, camo, etc. 2" wide is my preference. first aid section and sporting goods sections of Walmart typically have it in Black.
