    Gunsmithing Barrel Engraving

You can have someone with laser engraver match it and do it. They can look at it on barrel before cutting.

    New Sierra Game Changer line

My results were very satisfactory for whitetail with the 6.5 130gr. Furthest shot was 135yds, closest was 40yds. I will be using them next year also. I’m only running them about 2725 FPS, May have something to do with it. Some mushroomed good, some came completely apart hitting a lot of bone.

This one did quite a bit better, still went through a lot on bone. Bullet went in nose through cartilage through bone on bottom of skull and down into neck. Stayed intact and performed awesome. Retained about 62% of weight.

    New Sierra Game Changer line

Well, not a fair evaluation as the bullet took a turn up into the spine and blew spine completely in half. Found the chunk of lead in off side shoulder just under hide. A lot of small pieces I wasn’t able to gather. Looks like when it hit spine it handgrenaded in all that bone. Anyways, here is...

Bartlein Steel Barrel vs Proof Research Carbon Fiber Barrel

Recoil really isn’t a concern when you put on a muzzle brake, even most suppressors are good at taming recoil. I just built a 28 nosler that is like shooting a .223 with the muzzle brake on it.

Bartlein Steel Barrel vs Proof Research Carbon Fiber Barrel

I have shot and chambered about all of them. They cool faster? They also heat up faster. I shoot steel barrels on my competition guns, Proof CF on my hunting rifles. As far as accuracy, it depends how well you can reload. You won’t be able to tell a difference.

to buy an AMP annealer or not, that is the question

Just because you heard someone got 30+ firings don’t mean anything. I’m sure you could do that if you wanted. My testing was done with a 6BRA. After 2 firings the shoulder would be .001” to .0015” from bumping to where they were freshly annealed. The neck tension would change also making ES...

to buy an AMP annealer or not, that is the question

My AMP is one of the best tools I bought. I can anneal 100 cases in 8 min, most people can’t even set their machines up and adjust them in that time. If you can afford a AMP you’ll never regret buying one. To answer your anneal or don’t question, I’ll tell you from my testing that after 2...

Gunsmithing Remington 700 Ejection Port Milling???

I’d check your extractor. I had a Borden action do same thing, there was a small burr on extractor. Once I filed with micro file, it’s worked flawlessly. The burr was under lip of extractor where it grabs the rim of cartridge

    Gunsmithing Lathe question

The chip pan looks to be bent, also looks like it’s integral part of lathe. Looks like someone tried lifting it there instead of under bed or straps. I’d have to pass for a first lathe. If you’re experienced in machinery and can determine everything is fine, it may be a different story. Good luck.
