    The new Quigley FORD scope

What the actual fuck... So I'm supposed to just center the animal between the two bars when I can't see the reticle? That sounds super precise.

    Cold Bore Accuracy

My theory is that its somehow related to gas volume, possibly coupled with bullet and (suppressor) bore diameter. In my case, my 223 can had this problem on a 22-250, but not on a 223. Also, my 30 cal cans don't have this problem on that same 22-250. (maybe?) The larger volume of gas stays...

    Cold Bore Accuracy

Have you tried it without the suppressor? Also, if you let it sit 5 or so minutes and shoot another group, does it do it again? If so, see this: https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/first-round-flyers.6931386/ You may be witnessing a maddening phenomenon that seems to be a function of...

Is the 6.5prc a dead caliber before it really got started?

Part of the reason you can't find ammo and components is due to its popularity. I see brass pop up here and there, but it doesn't last long.

Question about temp sensitive powders -- CFE 223 & Leverevolution

This is not the direct answer you're looking for, but when trying to figure out Lever charges for a 6.5 Grendel, I observed that in other cartridges where both CFE and Lever were listed together, they were usually within a few tenths of each other. So I used CFE numbers for Lever, started low...

    Where is 6arc going?

That's pretty much par for the course for larger capacity ARs suppressed. My 6 Creed is probably worse, and that's using The Lords Powder (H4350)

    Help interpreting Borescope

If that was an expensive custom barrel, I'd be pretty disappointed in its roughness. However, I had a factory Savage barrel that made yours look pristine, and it hammered. I finally swapped it out due to velocity loss and the fact that I had a new one sitting there. It does appear to still be...

    HUXWRX (OSS) Flow 556

Ever shoot an AR suppressed? It gets dirty really quick, you get more gas in your face, and often, you need an adjustable gas block to get them to function correctly. That's where these "flow-through" aka: "low back-pressure" cans shine.

    Rem 700 bolt replacement questions

I was kind of afraid of that. The thing is, I don't really need another rifle, I just want to do something useful with this one.

    Hydrostatic shock question

They did. It's part 2: Spoiler: They both did very well at 2200 FPS. Neither did well at 1800 FPS. Minimum impact velocity is somewhere between the two -- probably about 2000 FPS, which is right around 600 yards for most manbuns.

    Rem 700 bolt replacement questions

    - Yes, I'm aware of PTGs reputation. Some bolts are available on Midway and other places, but not in left-hand that I can see. - I do plan on going the Remage route. Having re-barreled a Savage, I'm a fan of the barrel nut system. Other than the "look" of the nut, I'm not sure why they're not...

    Rem 700 bolt replacement questions

First off, I admit to knowing pretty much dick on this particular subject. I've done some research, but some things are not entirely clear. I have done quite a bit of "bubba-smithing", including assembling ARs, glass bedding, and replacing Savage barrels, so I'm not completely inept. Scenario...

    Hydrostatic shock question

I don't know if it's technically "hydrostatic" but look at the shock the ballistics gel takes here: In one case it flies off the table. That's the "shock" that knocks animals over.

Official (DTA) SRS, HTI, Covert, Hunter Thread

IMO, rattle can is a bit "ghetto" for such a fine instrument. I used Duracoat and an air brush. I don't recall it being any more difficult to paint than any other gun. Take the skins off, clean it up good (I use brake cleaner), rough it a bit with fine steel wool or similar, and mask off...

*OOPS! Mixed 1 lb. of RL23 & H4350... Will I blow my face off?

The correct answer is toss it or use it for some homemade fireworks. Even if you could make it work, you'd have to burn up a bunch of components just to figure out a load that you could never replicate.

    7mag help

That's good, but I have a feeling when that new brass becomes once fired, you may have problems again. I would try to give the chamber a polish as others suggested.

    7mag help

I had this exact same problem with a new 7mm R700 a few years ago. I sent it in to Remington and they fixed it, although they didn't say how. -- I assume they polished the chamber. I know they did not replace the barrel. The problem occurred with both factory Federal and my Hornady brass...
