    I keep the springs, connector, striker, all stock. I do like to replace the slide lock and mag catch with Vickers parts.....the slide stop isn't longer, just a better shape. The most important mod is STEEL SIGHTS....take your pic...currently I have 10-8 black rear and 10-8 brass bead front....YMMV.

    Rifle Scopes SPR optic?

    I like the Bushnell Elite 1-6.5 FFP BTR2 for my 18" SPRish build. On 1x, its pretty close to shooting a red dot sight, and on 6.5, I have a Mil based reticle with 10(!) Mils of elevation in the reticle. Covered knobs....no worries.... and enough power to ring steel at 814 yards.....

    My NXS F1 and 20" 308 took 18.3Mils to get to 1300 yards on a KD range. IF you were to run out of elevation in the turrets, you still have quite a bit in the reticle to play with also.....but you should be fine.

    Guys, At 25 yards, you simply dial down the power to 4-5 power, and you focus issues go away.

    I have 2 "Precision" 22LR trainer type rifles....one has the Weaver 3-10 Mil/Mil, and the other has SS 10X Mil/Mil. I like them both, but your specified needs, I would not hesitate to get the Weaver.....You will enjoy that scope!

    When Doubletap first came on the scene, everything I got from them was FAST, up to or beyond spec. I shot a lot of their 10mm ammo, but starting about 5 years ago, suddenly all the loads that I usually used of theirs( 38 Super and 10mm) got very anemic. Like 200 fps or more LESS than advertised...

    Which .308 Bullets for 1,000 yds in a 20 inch AR-10 will work best???????????

    Not a gas gun, but my 20" .308 TRG does very well at a grand with 178gr Hornady BTHP's. Noticeably better than 155 SMK Palma's or 175 SMK's. I can't see a downside assuming your stick likes them!

    I have 2 TRG22's, one 20" and one 26". Both have folders. I shoot the 20" much more. Its especially more manageable with the suppressor attached, and if you have a can, why would you want to shoot any other way than suppressed.
