Gunsmithing Manners T-5a & Timney 510 fit up issue

Re: Manners T-5a & Timney 510 fit up issue Just a quick follow up to close the thread. I spoke with Tom, and he was incredibly accommodating and understanding. I shipped off the stock, they turned it around in 1 day, shipped it back to me. The work they did looks tight and clean (and...

Re: best stock thumbhole stock for a rem 700 5r How timely... I just got my Manners T5a last night and introduced it to my 5R. Let's just say they are very happy together. The Manners chassis is like the cherry on top!

    Maggie’s Anyone Homebrew?

Re: Anyone Homebrew? Either that, or getting a little over zealous with the priming sugar Also, that can come from an infection. Did you try any? If it smelled like band-aids & baby diapers, that could be the issue

YoDave install question--how to grind pins?

Re: YoDave install question--how to grind pins? Thanks Linkless, I did a little dremel, and she popped right out. Now I just have to settle on which shim to use. I'm thinking green...

YoDave install question--how to grind pins?

Kinda silly and self-explanatory...but I've never done it, and wanted to know what to use and how to know when you're 'done'. I'm putting his kit on my 455 and am ready for the shim. The spring part went together no problem. He says that you may need to grind the front pin, and I see it is a...

    Maggie’s Anyone Homebrew?

Re: Anyone Homebrew? I actually freaked out with homebrewing--going from an obsessive hobby to actually doing it professionally for 5 years. I ended up as the head brewer for a CO microbrewery that did ~18,000 BBL/yr. I even spent a year working for the Institute for Brewing Studies here in...

Gunsmithing Manners T-5a & Timney 510 fit up issue

Re: Manners T-5a & Timney 510 fit up issue The thing is,I'm not seeing where it hits,at least on the chassis So I'm a little anxious about getting in there with a dremel. I was hoping that this was something other's have seen before and knew exactly what needed adjustment.

Gunsmithing Manners T-5a & Timney 510 fit up issue

Hey All, I just got back from vacation and found my Manners T-5a sitting on my doorstep, so understandably I was psyched. This is the first time using their MCS-DBM for me. I popped my 700 5R (.308)out of its stock and dropped it in the Manners. To my surprise (and a little disappointment)the...

Rifle Scopes Best optic under 2,000

Re: Best optic under 2,000 Sorry if I wasn't clear, I thought it was obvious that the extra $500-ish could be used for a variety of other modifications or improvements. Seems like most folks read it the way it was intended

Rifle Scopes Best optic under 2,000

Re: Best optic under 2,000 I liked the guy who said SS 5-20X or Bushnell HDMR, and then spend the saved $500 on ammo/training/upgrading your reloading setup/dropping in a better trigger/upgrading to a better stock...etc. It does come down to what you plan to use the scope for, and for my...

Gunsmithing YoDave spring install for Tikka T3 - Help!

Re: YoDave spring install for Tikka T3 - Help! Sadly, that is for the CZ spring kit, and not the Tikka spring. I can't find anything on his site about pulling apart a Tikka trigger.

Gunsmithing YoDave spring install for Tikka T3 - Help!

Hi All, First time posting in this forum, and to be frank, I'm a little out of my element here I'm just coming off my first Timney 510 install in my .308 5R, and was feeling confident enough to start tweaking some other triggers. The 510 works like a dream, by the way Anyway, I got the...

Re: Impact Data Books How to use a Data Book Video Hey Tony, Really nice job...I feel like I can see the value in tracking info this way. I've been just taking notes, and they are in no way as organized or meaningful. Super cool...this may just make a great Father's Day gift. I'm just sayin!

    rings for a cz455 ?

Re: rings for a cz455 ? Myself, I just used the SWFA picatinny rings (in Low). No issues with clearance. For the price, they seem entirely adequate to the task, as recoil is non-existent. I think they were ~$40.
