Re: m1a HELP ME! im goin crazy haha My buddy got lucky. Bought a used M1A at a gun show. It had a medium weight NM barrel, and someone had already done a trigger job. This was "back in the day" when most were shooting M1A's at service rifle competitions, and it was recommended to have a...

    Ruger Scout Rifle .308

Re: Ruger Scout Rifle .308 The "scout rifle" concept is to use a low power scope mounted forward of the receiver so that the shooter can keep both eyes open, and quickly locate targets, both moving and stationary. For that, you need an intermediate-relief scope, such as the "scout" scope...

Any reason not to use Weaver base/rings?

Re: Any reason not to use Weaver base/rings? Nothing wrong with the Weaver mounts, in my opinion. I have used the Weaver "tactical" rings on everything up to 50 BMG, and I've never had a problem with them.

Re: 22 LR Dilemma of sorts. Spring-powered air rifles have a "reverse recoil" effect from the rebounding spring, and require that the scope be built to withstand recoil from the opposite direction from firearms. See this link

    22 LR Dilemma of sorts.

Re: 22 LR Dilemma of sorts. My kids started out using iron sights, and when we go plinking, they still often prefer to shoot the .22s that don't have scopes on them. I have long used the Tasco Varmint 2.5-10x 42mm scope on some of my .22s. It has an adjustable objective and a mil-dot...

    powder throwers accurate ?

Re: powder throwers accurate ? Here's an interesting comparison of scales: Prometheus Scale Comparison You need to decide how much precision you need. That will depend in large part on how well you shoot. A shooter that does not shoot well with Federal Gold Medal Match (that is...
