On JP's barrel page click on one of the XL barrels. On the RH side there is a gas tube option. 15 Bucks.

Gunsmithing What gas tube for JP XL length system?

Let me ask a dumber question.. Why wouldn't you just get the gas tube from JP?

Gunsmithing Accurate Ordnance closing its doors......

Quoted from Marks facebook page >>> " We want to sincerely thank everyone who has supported and encouraged us the last few (9+) years. We greatly appreciate you. Unfortunately, we have decided to close the shop. I am dealing with a parent in Hospice care and my attention needs to be elsewhere...

    Gunsmithing Muzzle Brake

I don't use crush washers for brakes. Crush washers are for flash hiders. Shims are for brakes if you aren't capable of timing it by adjusting the length with a lathe.

    Gunsmithing Pre-contoured AR barrels

As cheap as AR parts are today if I were going through barrels that fast I would just buy finished barrels.

    Gunsmithing Specific Gas Block Spacing

The hole for the gas tube is in the same position above the center of the bore on all gas blocks. The low profile description fits when compared to a FSB. Have you tried what you have inside your new handguard?

Gunsmithing TIG welder in the house?

Gonna be kinda tough to service the bolt with the handle welded in! I'd get a new bolt installed. Might even try to get Tikka to do it under warranty. It looks like the bolt is cast. Maybe there was a nasty spot in the casting. I wonder what the OP did to the rifle to cause that.

    Gunsmithing Custom thread adapter.

If you are happy with a bandaid go for it. NO such thing as a free lunch.

    Gunsmithing Custom thread adapter.

I don't like bandaids. I would have the barrel threaded 1/2-28.

Gunsmithing U.S. Gun Inletting & Stocks?

"That's what I always thought, hence my confusion " Sorry if I confused you. I just cannot imagine ordering a drop in stock from a guy doing work like it appears he does.

Gunsmithing U.S. Gun Inletting & Stocks?

The guy you linked to more than likely has an FFL. The grades of wood pictured in his gallery probably wouldn't be commissioned as a drop in stock. Not by me anyway. Many of the slabs pictured are worth thousands before he touches them.

Gunsmithing U.S. Gun Inletting & Stocks?

I always google the shop's address first. In this guys case it looks like he is running his business out of his house. Not necessarily an issue. I then would ask for his FFL. If he doesn't have one run away. Last but not least ask for a copy of his GL policy faxed from his carrier's verified fax...

Gunsmithing Looking for a top end Smith for an old Smith.....

I am no S&W expert but they made a 681 with fixed sights for the M&P that isn't rare at all. Has he tried to shoot an adjustable sighted S&W? Chances are he won't be able see them either. If he does it he may also have to install a taller front sight. If I were in hais shoes I would get me an...

    Gunsmithing Dremel/Polishing a Feed Ramp?

The ramp on his original barrel looks way too deep to me. If I did anything at all I would maybe just break the edge on the new barrel and only if it was sharp. I wonder if he has tried other magazines?
