    Neck Sizing Problem

Pull the bolt, and with a wooden dowel check the flexibility of the extractor. This is a check for foreign matter behind the extractor.

Gunsmithing Rem 700-Bolt will not open after firing! I'm confused!

The ring is probably caused by a rough spot in the chamber.

    Deep Freezer woes...

The electronic control on my mostly new Maytag dryer went tits up. I had to remove the front panel and wire the machine to run on high temp with no controls other than yours truly (plugging or unplugging). The cost of replacement of the electronic control was prohibitive. So much for a $1000...

    Neck sizing

So anyway, the question I'm asking, for those using RCBS dies, from your experience, are all RCBS dies designed for minimum bump on SAMMI max chambers?

    Neck sizing

I'm thinking RCBS makes their dies for SAMMI max (+ bump), not min. chamber, as all main line mfgrs. should be employing a max chamber. This view might be well received at RCBS. Remember, all chambers must accept max ammo. Min chamber would require additional reloading technique.

    Neck sizing

The RCBS FL dies sets, do they not pretty much size to SAMMI max plus 0.001"-0.002" bump?

    My 243+Shooter app=confusing.

Re: My 243+Shooter app=confusing. The baro is 30.00 in hg at sea level, not at 7300 Ft. As elevation rises, baro pressure drops. Good luck.

    Hunting & Fishing 300 H&H Mag anyone?

Re: 300 H&H Mag anyone? One thing that hasn't been mentioned, is the neck length getting shorter, during this fireforming. After all, the brass has to come from somewhere.

    Hunting & Fishing 300 H&H Mag anyone?

Re: 300 H&H Mag anyone? Yes, creating a "false shoulder" can help to reduce case stretching. However, it is still going to blow the shoulder forward, with no stretching caused by the case moving forward (fireforming). All that this (the false shoulder) does is park the case head at the bolt...

    Hunting & Fishing 300 H&H Mag anyone?

Re: 300 H&H Mag anyone? You will need to illustrate to me where it is that your case is stretching, and verify the reason for it. Have you ever verified your chamber headspace? If so, how much is it? The gun mfgrs are aware that they have a generous allowance with the belted mags...

    Hunting & Fishing 300 H&H Mag anyone?

Re: 300 H&H Mag anyone? I have not reloaded nor used the H & H. It is without mistake that this round needs the belt. The bigger problem can probably be found in the headspace (belt length sizing). Compared to the headspace distance, it might open your eyes, when you realize it. Then...

    Hunting & Fishing 300 H&H Mag anyone?

Re: 300 H&H Mag anyone? The case head to shoulder dimension is of little concern with the belted mag, on initial firing. The belt controls headspace, while the pressure blows the case forward, to fill the space between it and the chamber. This doesn’t stretch the case. If you headspace on...

    Range Report Canned Air cooling

Re: Canned Air cooling I read awhile back of a fellow that used water through the barrel, for quick cooling.
