Tikka T3x lite vs CTR precision

I'd go the Tikka Veil with the D18 barrel profile. A little heavier than the lite but not as heavy as the ctr. I measured .7" at the muzzle. If the plastic stock is as issue, just replace it with a carbon fiber or lightweight stock of your choosing. Weight of the Veil i measured at 3.04kg / 6lb...

Redding Body Die vs. FL Bushing Die

I use them for most of my cals that i reload no complaints from me. For cals that i have multiple rifles, i just have 1 body die set up for each rifle and share the neck die. Just a little finicky to get it set up initially.

Yet another .308 barrel length thread...suggestions please

No problem at all. Happy to help. I'm doing a similar thing. Ended up with a Tikka lite in 300wsm 24inch. Unfortunately no suppressors down here in Australia, apparently they turn hunting rifles into silent sniper rifles.

Yet another .308 barrel length thread...suggestions please

Yes seems like you're all over it. As the velocity drops you'll have more trouble getting the copper to expand reliably. Hornady recommends at least 2000 fps for gmx to expand so assuming 165 gmx and ~ 2550 fps muzzle velocity that get you right around 300 yards. If you can live with lead...

16 -18 inch would be fine. Also could you please elaborate on why you're wanting to use copper projectiles?

SIG Kilo 3000BDX black edition? UPDATE

Where / what price is everyone getting these from? Looking at picking some up but a little iffy about some of the smaller retailers.

Tikka T3x or Ruger American action

I would only go 6.5 creedmoor if you would be happy running the factory barrel. This would save you some cost. If you're going to go through the effort of getting a custom barrel then 6.5x47 is no extra effort. There's the argument that 6.5x47 is more inherently accurate and easier to tune...

New to bolt action rifles and looking to get a AI AT, should I go with 308WIN or 6.5Creed Moore?

A lot of people like myself end up selling half the crap in their safe to finance an AI. So if you can afford it, go for it. However I'd highly recommend taking a course or two first as the experience will pay for itself instead of wasting money on ammo and gear. Gunwerks have a pretty...

Rifle Scopes I need a scope

I second the bushnell lrhs. 4.5-18x44 with illuminated g2h reticle. Can score these for ~750 from time to time on the px. Also might be worth getting in touch with Doug at Cameraland (Hide sponsor)

Tikka T3x or Ruger American action

Tikka hands down. Much better action and more aftermarket support. If you've yet to purchase anything maybe consider a tikka ctr or varmint in 6.5 creedmoor to drop into your chassis. I would favor the varmint for the heavier barrel if your intended purpose is target, however you might need to...

Gunsmithing Do Tikka firing pins need to be bushed for SR primers?

I've had about 1.5k rounds down my tikka ctr in 6.5cm with lapua srp brass with no problems.
