XLR Carbon vs. AI AX Chassis

I have the XLR Carbon, after having an X-Ray. I like the ergo's a little better than the X-Ray, but could see why other's would prefer the KRG. The KRG seems lighter to me though. The buttstock on the XLR is the heavy part. I can't imagine how much more the AI would be (never held one), that...

San Ramon high schol students ban racially offense National Anthem

I think you're being very generous assuming it's only 10%. I'd be willing to bet its 90% that don't know the history behind it...

Necking down .308 to .260 problem

I've come to the same conclusion... I think I'm going to get the neck turner. I have a few thousand 308 cases that I can start with (still shoot 308, so I'll keep a half 308, and resize the others). After I shot the necked down cases the first time, they seem to seat better now after...

    One piece scope mount

You're going to be fighting zero's every time you swap it. A 1 pc mount is certainly easier and faster to swap, and it'll return to zero within reason after being removed and remounted (1moa is doable with a good mount). A lot of the time it'll be closer after firing the first shot (at least my...

18 stages of Precision Rifle, fun match $40 NE Ohio

Would love to attend, but can't make that date. Next one hopefully. Is that range/facility open to the public at all? It'd be closer than the range in PA we normally go to for that distance.

    Best flashlight

Vote for the Pelican 7600 here... Super bright (900+ lumens), multiple power modes, fully USB rechargeable, plus it has a small red and small green LED that you can switch to for night vision use (won't kill your night eyes when you turn it on and then off). Plus, you can find them for about...

Hunting & Fishing Anyone want to guess at what is in this trail cam picture?

I thought Porcupine initially as well. Had similar pictures of them on my cams... Even got one picture of a porcupine climbing right over my camera, up the pine tree it was hung on. Took me a few minutes to figure out what it was...

    Tikka T3 Thread

I can attest to breaking a rail off a Tikka receiver. Not even from abuse... replaced the Factory rail with a 20moa version, and after about 3 years of range trips and hunting (carried on a sling), I pulled it out of the case early one morning before heading to the stand, and the scope didn't...

    Tikka T3 Thread

Anyone with a XLR Carbon have a recommendation on what mount they use for their scope? I'd like a one piece mount, with 20moa of can't built in. Thinking it needs to be 1.25" or so... Anyone have experience?

XLR folding adapter on MDT LSS?

If it's an AR style buffer tube, it'll work... Just be mindful that it adds a couple inches of length, so if you have a standard fixed buffer tube already, your LOP is going to be looonnnnngggggg...

Can steel targets be too thick/heavy?

If you're shooting steel inside of 25 yards, don't use FMJ... Nylon jacketed or lead only bullets.

My new setup. Now some advice. Please.

My only input is if you're right handed, you may prefer the press on the right side of the bench... I had mine on the left, as it's out of the way more... I found it easier to grab bullets with my left hand, put them in the neck, and work the press with my right hand. If you're a southpaw...

    UPS Store Policies

I always tell them its a "Spanner Wrench" regardless of size or shape of the box. My UPS store in NY won't accept anything gun related either. I once had a manufacturer send me a barrel blank that wasn't right via UPS. I opened it, found the error, went to send it back via UPS and was told they...

Rifle Scopes Good one piece mount, not spuhr

I have an AD Recon SL 20MOA on my Tikka, it's a nice piece, though I wish it were a little lower profile still. The turret block has less clearance than the Obj lens though, so there's not much you can do to bring it down farther.

    Tikka T3 Thread

Yeah, I guess I'm not in love with 2 stage triggers... Shot them in rifle competitions through high school and college, and never found any reason to prefer them over a good single stage. I'm sure Timney will make a killing on them, just not from me. It's always nice to have options though!

    Tikka T3 Thread

I honestly don't know how you could improve on the trigger in my T3... It breaks like glass, and has maybe .050" of overtravel. $200 buys a lot of ammo/bullets and powder compared to that Timney!

K-Bars What Knife is in your pocket right now?

Benchmade 940-1... It's a gentleman's folder in my book. Not huge and tactical looking, super light, but with great steel (S90V), and super fast deployment (axis lock FTW). It's the best EDC I've ever owned and carried

Tikka CTR Stock Upgrade - Thoughts?

I love my X-Ray, and it sees lots of hunting use, along with the range days. It's a little heavy if you're looking for a hiking gun, but if you're going to put a big piece of glass on it anyway, a few extra ounces for a stock isn't going to make a difference.
