Night Vision AN/PVS-4 Gen 2 and Gen 3

Had some fun under the stars with a PVS-4, TVS-5 and a whole lot of tubes. Did not have time to finish the TVS-5 segments, unfortunate as that was my favorite due to the MK-880 being mounted to the TVS-5 objective. I'll revisit it at some point though. AN/PVS-4 with Gen 2 and Gen 3 25mm image...

Night Vision highly technical nod questions and some about the pvs 4 too. math gurus needed

For clarity sake, the LAV-25A2 gen III tube (P/N 510-7330-306) is not a hybrid, super inverter or 3+1, it is just a standard double proximity focused module with a fiber optic inverter. A hybrid 3+1 tube is not bigger than a typical MX-9644/UV tube and is nearly as light, the weight is way less...

Night Vision highly technical nod questions and some about the pvs 4 too. math gurus needed

ghostwriter247, Halation is present in ESI single proximity focused tubes, the ones used in both AN/PVS-4 and AN/TVS-5 systems as well as many others. Though halation is not as apparent in ESI single proximity focused tubes as it is in double proximity focused tubes, it is present. It's...

Night Vision highly technical nod questions and some about the pvs 4 too. math gurus needed

The NightOptics units were rather stellar, really clean well performing systems. Not sure on all the resellers that bought these refurbished systems but the they should all perform similarly. If you can pick one up in the mid $2000 range, assuming your after a Gen III system, your paying a...

Night Vision highly technical nod questions and some about the pvs 4 too. math gurus needed

No, not a 3+1 cascade/hybrid but it is a very nice glass input FO inverting wafer tube (double proximity focused). That tube is the Gen III upgrade (MX-11620 P/N 510-7330-306) for the passive sight in the LAV-25A2. The tube is also a direct drop in for the AN/TVS-5 night sight, not...

Night Vision PVS-4 (Gen 3), PVS-12 Aquila, or D740 - which is better?

Given the advancements of modern 18mm image intensifier over the 25mm image intensifiers, I'd give the nod to the Aquila. The PVS-4 in Gen III is a nice system but it's way over priced, stupid high pricing. Back before Night Optics sold of their stock, I believe they were selling in the upper...

No such luck, neither the collimator nor the video cable are included at least as it stands now. I'm a bit surprised on the video cable, it should be included period, no excuse for it not to be! Not so surprised on the collimator. Emailed them and found out that they are considering...

Night Vision Through the Tube Pictures

Yes but not of or through specific systems. I'd really like to see a bunch of white phosphor photos from both Photonis and Ekran WP tubes, preferably in 1x monocular systems. It takes a lot of time to take and post photos so not holding you to anything.

Night Vision Need help in re-focusing my anvis after a clean up.

Did you remove or other wise loosen the objective lenses? If you didn't remove the objectives, the issue is likely caused by an improperly seated image intensifier or improperly installed tube lock ring. Uninstall the tube on the affected side and carefully reinstall it. If you did then...
