    6xc

Whidden only makes one 6XC die. It should work fine for 6xcII. I've seen several people say they use that combination with no problems. I have both the Tubb and Whidden dies. I've changed my chambers to 6xcII, but haven't needed to size my batch of brass yet. It will be going thru the Whidden...

    6xc

Tubb's dies are too small at the base for use with a 6xcII chamber. You need to use Whidden or Redding 6xcII dies.

PRS Talk WAR rifles PRS match

It was Mike L. I don’t think he even went to the match once he discovered it all stolen.

PRS Talk WAR rifles PRS match

I believe it was stolen Friday night. I’m not sure specifically what gear was stolen. I assume backpack w/bags, etc. He didn’t mention his rifle, so I assume it’s safe.

A shooters truck was broken into and gear stolen in the area. Shitty situation. Perhaps all the local shooters would keep an eye out for any gear sales that seem sketchy.

    PRS Talk PRS Safety Culture

I agree RO training and separation of scoring and spotting duties needs to be expanded. This isn’t like blaming guns for a school shooter. My point is that there’s a 60,000psi reaction going on next to your face. It’s not the place to be telling a nervous/excited shooter “too bad, so sad”. PRS...

    PRS Talk PRS Safety Culture

All perfectly legit reasons not to have alibis (for lack of a better term). However, is preventing these predicted abuses worth someone's facing getting blown off or other very serious injuries? I'm ok with strict rules, but not when it compromises range and firearm safety.

    PRS Talk PRS Safety Culture

Does there need to be a penalty free mechanism for anyone seeing a problem to call a cease fire? In this case, if the shooter was able to stop (penalty free) mid stage to insure there was no dangerous rifle condition, the accident may never have happened. I'm referring to a similar system of...

Moving from Massachusetts to Vermont or New Hampshire. Which State is #2A Friendlier

The trick to getting into Reading faster is exactly what you did. Come to the matches. Get to know the guys and someone will sponsor you. All the KD clubs run prone matches that will usually allow tactical rifles to shoot along side. You just might have to remove your brake. The match schedules...

Moving from Massachusetts to Vermont or New Hampshire. Which State is #2A Friendlier

I forgot about Dartmouth. Never been there. Otherwise: Reading rifle: all matches are open to the public. You’re wrong on membership. You need a sponsor, but membership is open, and we take in members all the time. There is no cap. I am on the board there. Nashua Fish and Game: Merrimack, NH...

Moving from Massachusetts to Vermont or New Hampshire. Which State is #2A Friendlier

There are five private 600 yard KD ranges within an hour and half drive of greater Boston. You can shoot NRA midrange or across the course every Saturday and Sunday from April to October. There are also three 1000+yd steel ranges within two and half hours. There is also Prs matches being held...

    I need a new caliber - help.

Do yourself a favor. Spend the money on reloading equipment and components instead. If you're looking to shoot 1000 yards, you really cannot rely on factory ammo, unless you're buying Prime or Federal GMM. Trying to shoot beyond 300 yards with anything but ultra premium factory ammo is going...

PRS Talk RRS rail or Picatinny for PRS

I ended up getting the RRS/Arca rail for the J Allen I have, and am having a friend custom fabricate another one for my Tubb rifle. The RRS mounts are super sweet.

PRS Talk RRS rail or Picatinny for PRS

I need to adapt a rifle forend for PRS competition use. I may be having a rail custom made/installed into the forend I have. Does anyone have any thoughts as to which system is better for bipod use and why? RRS rail or picatinny? Tripod use isn't huge around here, but I can see how it could be.

Are there any Precision Rifle comps in the New England area?

Fellow New Englander here . The PRS matches (monthly) were being held at Granby Bow and Gun in western MA, but have been shut down by locals. We hope to have them up and running soon. Sheepdog Warrior in Catskill NY is also planning to run some PRS next year. There is a PRS Series match in...
