    Need Current Armalite AR-10 Guidance

Is there anyway to identify whether a particular rifle was built prior to or after acquisition by the new ownership? Is there a serial number range or possibly changes in the markings on the lower? @UpSideDown, I hadn't considered the Barrett until you brought it up. I went to the website...

    Need Current Armalite AR-10 Guidance

@Reverie Ranges, which MWS? What have you found about the LMT that you found superior to the 10T? What level of accuracy is the LMT producing (conservative evaluation please).

    Need Current Armalite AR-10 Guidance

Please keep it coming guys. I appreciate the input. @hafejd30, I'm actually not constrained by budget. The exception is that I try and show some measure of common sense. I'm trying to become informed about KAC, JP, LMT, GAP, Seekins, Et al. It's proving to be hard because I'm reading lots...

    Need Current Armalite AR-10 Guidance

I've been mulling over the purchase of a .308 or 6.5CM gas gun. Not an immediate need so I'll wait 'til the current lunacy ends. I have an M-15T with a 24"SS barrel that I bought NIB about ten years ago. It is from the Clinton era. It has very good two stage trigger and is quite accurate...

    Rifle Scopes DMR optic

I've got a VUDU 5-25 H-59 on an Armalite M15 with a 24" heavy SS barrel. The combination with the VUDU has been extremely impressive. I need some more rounds under it but at this point I'm extremely impressed.

SOMEONE WHO KNOWS FROM WHICH RIFLE IS THIS STOCK???

Agree it's Mauser but which one? The location of the plate for cocking/decocking looks like a Swede 38. The sling mount looks like an Argentine 09 plus it would have a crossbolt. Too many Mausers too little time.

    HAMMERLI

@zfk55sr or @buffalowinter could probably provide an answer to your questions about the Hammerli. I would think any competent stocker could repair the existing stock. A gunsmith can do a chamber casting for you to determine the cartridge. In all likelihood it is 7.5X55 Swiss but apparently...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Help with older Randall Model 1-8

jbuck88, I looked up J.Heiser of Denver CO. In collecting and research the best advice is "never say never" but the Heiser history of maker's marks indicates that mark was used until 1955. Does anyone know when the 1-8 was first produced...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Help with older Randall Model 1-8

Damn--Damn--and Double Damn. That is one of the coolest pieces of memorabilia ever. Then to boot, you have his 1911. I have no idea what kind of records Randall has available but that would be my first stop. It's evident that your grandads knife has his name on it and if they have records...

    Waterproofing boots

Sno Seal is the answer. I've worn Hoffmans for thirty or so years. They are a pac with felt liners, air bob soles and quality leather uppers. Use a tooth brush to rub into stitching. I've also used it on the old Redwing work boots that had no lining of any kind and double stitched vibram...

Replica USMC M14 DMR project completed

I mentioned something a few years ago on this forum regarding SVDs that might be of interest to you and your fellow SVD shooter. In 1967 we were briefed by Langley regarding the bounty/reward program and the SVD Dragunov was included. You guys probably keep track of this stuff but one went...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Sporting clay shotgun recomendations

Take a look around for the early Antonio Zoli Kronos and Z Guns. Some were made for Verona and are designated LX980. these are Kronos models in the Zoli line. About forty guns were made for Dakota Arms. These are early Z-Guns and were called the Dakota Sport. I have a Grade I Sport with a...

Dress shoes: Allen Edmonds They use a number of lasts. Find one that's comfortable and stick with it. Hunting & Field: Hoffmans What's generally called a PAC but I've worn them in a 100 degrees with comfort. Mine have all had LaCrosse bottoms no longer available. Treat the tops with...

    Hide extra slow today?

The 'Hide has been off line for me for three or four days. I got a continuous maintenance message for that period. It came back to life about three hours ago. Two possible circumstances that might effect it are Hughes Net and the fact that one of my computers is on Win7. Being inquisitive...

Are the FN SPR enthusiasts extinct?

I'm glad the action is what you are looking for. The reason I sold it is simply that I had been sitting on it for years along with three A-4s and FN TBMs. As regards your .260 barrel, here are some shops that may be able to answer you question. Moon Roberts at Crescent Crescent Customs, LRI...
