My 1 in 8 barreled Sendero in 300 Win Mag doesn't like 230 SMK's either. I couldn't be bothered to piss about with another box of 50, so went with Berger 230 OTM's, that easily grouped 10 rounds in under 7 inches at 900 yards, with no real load development. Obviously I'll work on improving it...
I have. Early days yet, as I'm working up a load, but they seem pretty much a one hole job ?.
That's through my Remington Sendero with a Lothar Walther 1 in 8 twist and RWS brass.
I have the same rifle and use 230 0TM Hybrids, for hunting and target work. It's excellent ?.
Use H1000, and forget any other powder, except for Vihtavouri N570 ( should you come across any).
Hi people. I'm planning on re- barrelling my Remington Sendero in 300 Win Mag. I was considering a Bartlein or Schneider barrel at 26" long, 15x1 suppressor thread, and a 1in 9 twist.
What make will give great barrel life and accuracy?
Thanks.
I've used 10X up to 1200 yards successfully.
Being rather odd, I like the idea of using the 4X at long range. I've shot out to 600 yards with 4X, and don't feel underscored.
I'm looking forward to seeing how far I can shoot accurately with a 4X.
You don't need more than 10x for 1000 yards. In fact, in hot weather, anything above this can cause mirage. You don't need parallax adjustment either, up to 10x power.
If you can get away with not needing lower magnification, get a fixed 8X or 10X.
Hi everyone.
I'm a little odd, but I wondered if anyone enjoys using fixed power long range scopes at as long a distance as possible?
I use my 4x36 Schmidt & Bender Police / Military scope at long range on my 300 WIN MAG.
