    408 Chey Tac questions

Re: 408 Chey Tac questions I use a standard rock chucker press and C & H dies, just need to remove the bushing in the press to use the larger dies. I think C & H and RCBS make shell holders for the .408 now. I think the dies threads are 1 1/4 inch.

    375 cheytac loads?

Re: 375 cheytac loads? Go Fast - most rifles like some jump, start at .010 and work back. The bullets have a 10 tangent ojive so as long as the bullet is concentric in the case, jumping should work fine.

    meplat trim & bullet tipping

Re: meplat trim & bullet tipping Be very careful when using these after market bullet pointing dies. The die supports the bearing area and a very small portion of the ojive which leaves a large portion of the ojive unsupported and can become distorted. We had a customer doing this and it was...

    408 CT sub sonic loads?

Re: 408 CT sub sonic loads? I ran the numbers using our bullet design program and using the .408 420gr. Rocky Mountian match bullets at 1100 fps you will need a 11 twist tube to come up with a stability factor of 1.5. Your rifle most likely has a 13 twist so I would say you right on the edge...

    375 cheytac loads?

Re: 375 cheytac loads? I used VV N170 in my 375 CT with the Rocky Mountain 370 gr, bullets. Seems to be just a little slower than Retumbo. I use 129 gr. of N170 to get the same velocity as 128 gr. of Retumbo - 3000 fps.
