    7 Rem Mag - 7 WSM - 7-08

Well, I did not find what I wanted so maybe someday someone will see this. I just went to the Hornady website and they list 60gr of IMR 4350 behind a 162 gr bullet but it was not the ELD-M I am using in Hornady brass. Well, I had Federal and did rather well but now all I can get is once fired...

    Reloading - cost of entry

New and Reloading Almost a Wash With tax, hazmat and shipping it will cost me $1,134.53 to reload 1000 rounds of 308 175 HPBTMK. I can buy 1000 FGMM from a vendor for $1337.00. I don't find this to be much of a savings since factory FGMM in 168 and 175 shoot just fine in my 700R5. I will say I...

    Donor Brass: Federal vs. Hornady

For the 178 ELDX I have loaded 41.7 gr of IMR 4064 and got good groups. I have now loaded 41.7 gr of IMR 4064 in Hornady brass. Should I expect to see the same results. I keep hearing how case capacity makes a difference. I also noticed Hornady does not load the 178 ELDX but gave that...

.308 Federal GMM 168 grain Load

If it's not 4064 thn what is it. It measure out to be 40gr behind a 168 and 40.2 gr behind a 175. We'd really like to know instead of wasting time and ammo and not getting an exact replication of the factory load. This stuff now cost $1,227 for 1000 of 168 and $1,337 for 1000 of 175. It's nut...

Federal gold match 168 gr smk reloads

I just disassembled one factory round of 168 FGMM, federal brass and found the powder to weight 40 grains. I looked at the powder in the round compared to IMR-4064 side by side and found the diameter was the same but the length was shorter. Does anyone know if it still 4064 or is it some other...

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

One of these days we will have to try 1000 yards with the 5.56. For now we are at 600 yards and trying to group well. Next we'll go to 800 and then move on to where you are. Were you at least 1 MOA at 1000 or did you do better?

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

For now I am loading 24.0 gr of TAC and it seems to be doing good but we will have to try the 23.2 - 23.7 gr of AA 2230

Rifle Scopes Leupold CCH Reticle Sub tensions?

I just bought a NIB VX-3i 8-25X50 FFP MIL Side Focus with the CCH reticle. I can not find any video's on how to use this properly. It appears you use turret dial up off the data from a Kestrel 5700 and then is correcting is needed your spotter tell you your holdover and windage and then you...

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

I could not get Varget but I did get A2230. From what I see here 77 SMK w/ AA2230 22.0 should be fine. Would you happen to have a photo of a group shot using this load. I am guess this text above 77 SMK 2.260 mean 22.6 grains. Please advise

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

Yes that is what I have been told and understand why but I do have a question, what is a nato load? Are we talking FPS for a particular bullet weight such as 69 and 75. Please provide some load or where you got that loading data from

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

First test of rifle. This is factory PMC 55 GR FMJ-BT and it seems to be doing just fine and I'm bet with 55gr Blitz King using AA 2230 and federal small riles match primers I will do just as good or better out of an off the shelf RRA AR15 no mods done and only a reddot 1-6 Vortex. I think I...

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

Well, I lost my old post I wanted to update with this photo but the best I could do with off the shelf PMC 55gr FMJ-BT 2,900 FPS was as shown with a 1-6 Vortex red dot @ 100 yards. There was just nothing to aim at except for a blown out 1" dia center which only had about 1.4 of the white line...

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

Well, after using red dot vortex 1 - 6 on the range yesterday at 100 yards trying to group I discovered the best I could do was .800 MOA and that to me is not all that good. This comes from shooting the center out of the paper target with a 308 prior to trying to sight the AR 15 in at 100 yards...

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

Well it's now onto the next question. I have this chamber in my RRA -https://www.shootingillustrated.com/content/223-wylde-the-ideal-ar-15-chamber/ and have fired ~ 500 rounds. I saved the brass and now as you can see want to reload. I need the ammo to fit into the mag so I am assuming I should...

Looking for known accurate 223 loads

Is off the shelf AA 2230 an S type powder or is this a special powder not available in the US. Does this mean that max load should be reduced to 23.04 gr instead of 24.0 when using non- S type powder? See note under title of page. I know, start low and work my way up but the 24.0 gives me the...
