Here's one we built this year. Cost around $350-$400 unless you have some scrap materials. Has 2x2 frame covered with OSB walls, tilt in 3/16" glass windows (can be cut to size by local glass store), 2x4 floor joists with 3/4" plywood decking, and 29ga roof with 2x2 rafters and 1/4" decking. 8'...

Hunting & Fishing .308 for midsize game????

My buddy and I hunt deer and hogs together. There have been several occasions where he was using 168gr SMKs and I was using regular old ballistic tips 165/168gr. His hogs have ran a ways into the brush while mine DRT. It may be poor shot placement on the few we haven't recovered of his. This...

Setting up dies for shoulder bump on .308 AR brass

Re: Setting up dies for shoulder bump on .308 AR brass Just an update/question. I backed off the FL sizing die to obtain .004-.005" bump, but it still touches the shell holder with a little camming at the top of the stroke. The bumping variance is .004-.005" where it is set wheb sizing once...

Setting up dies for shoulder bump on .308 AR brass

Re: Setting up dies for shoulder bump on .308 AR brass Thanks for all the responses. My rifle is an LAR-8 carbine, factory chamber setup. I will measure some factory brass that I regularly shoot to ensure I am at least close to the dimensions (body diameter, etc) after resizing. If I can...

Setting up dies for shoulder bump on .308 AR brass

First off, I haven't hand loaded a single round but am slowly receiving my equipment from the brown truck each day. I purchased a Forster FL die and was going to set it up to bump the shoulder approximately .003" on my fire formed brass (.308). I am using the Sinclair bump gauge to check my...

    Rock River LAR8 specs

Re: Rock River LAR8 specs I emailed Troy about their rails and I believe the .308 MRF and TRX quad rails for the DPMS will work for the LAR-8 since they utilize the OEM barrel but. JP also makes a FF tube that's compatible as well as the Daniel Defense quad rail.

I have a Bobro one piece mount for my LAR-8. There were slight ring marks on the prior scope that came out of this mount. Is lapping a one piece mount advised? Thanks.
