Rifle Scopes Burris Veracity, does anyone have one?

Just bought a 3-15 recently as a specific hunting scope, and am really happy with it. I went for the capped turret version, as it's got a BDC reticle in FFP. (note you can order with tactical turrets) The reticle design is really impressive, in that it's basically a plex reticle at 3x and a BDC...

    Rifle Scopes S&B 5-45x56

That's really got nothing to do with the scope... rather review Horus's reticle datasheet. The Horus H59 has a central vertical crosshair of 0.055 Mil. At 2000yds 1 Mil is 72", which makes the reticle 3.96" wide. At 1500yds 1 Mil is 54", which makes the reticle 2.97" wide. ... and that will be...

Rifle Scopes S&B turret range question

All sounds fine. If it's a second hand scope, the zero stop is probably set for the previous owner's setup. You're always going to lose a bit of travel when you zero... no biggie. Leave the 20MOA rail, stop typing... go shoot more. ;)

Rifle Scopes S&B 12-50x FFP vs 5-25x - downsides (other than obvious) of ultra mag scope?

If you have ever shot a practical long range shooting competition, you'll quickly find out that having too high a low end magnification makes it very hard to find to find the next target. It's also why bird watchers prefer a 8x magnification over a 10x.

Rifle Scopes S&B 12-50x FFP vs 5-25x - downsides (other than obvious) of ultra mag scope?

If you're just shooting paper at the range, then go for the 12-50... but perhaps chat with the Benchrest guys at your range for their recommendations. The 5-25 has a wider field of use, especially for transitioning between targets. It's all down to application, and you sound like you know what...

Rifle Scopes What scope for a rimfire trainer

Careful on the distance that you're shooting, as parallax on most scopes is from 50y upwards. Unfortunately parallax data is also not overly easy to get hold of from some manufacturers. I've created this FFP Rifle Scope Gogle Doc to keep track of all FFP scopes, where the turrets and...

Rifle Scopes Official s&b ultra short thread!!!

No idea... but these will: ERA-Tac - One-Piece Mounts especially designed for S&B 5-20x50 PM II / LP Ultra Short (illuminated) The uni-mount has what they call a 'Universal Interface', which allows things like cosine/bubble indicators or BUIS to be connected directly to the scope mount. Looks...

Rifle Scopes Official s&b ultra short thread!!!

That's pretty awesome ! So... the 5-25 starts tunneling at around 7x. the 4-16 starts tunneling at around 5x. the 3-20 starts tunneling at around 3.25x. (0.25x which is basically close to non) the 5-20 has no tunneling. The 3-20 would seem to have 8.4m of FOV at 5x, where the 5-20 seems to...

Rifle Scopes Official s&b ultra short thread!!!

Out of interest... I did some quick calculations on the FOV at various magnifications. The data suggests that it's 5-20 with a FOV of 7800mm-1950mm at 100m. Which mathematically implies it's a perfect zoom, without any tunneling ? 1950 * (20 / 5) = 7800 Is that correct ? - Is there any...

    Rifle Scopes h59 or tremor2

They are for different applications as Gengis says: H59 - This is a Mil based equal stadia reticle, so it's good for precision and it's pretty fast, and it is a good all round reticle if hold over and off is what you want. Some people think it's busy, some don't... you're the only person that...

Rifle Scopes KAHLES 312i - new scope at Eurosatory

Hmmm... this in K624i, Mil6 reticle, with a 25m parallax... ...could just be the next high end glass for top end PCP air-rifles. Previously only S&B's had sub 50m parallax (at twice the price).

    Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 6

The CMR-W, like the TReMoR2, is a rapid engagement reticle, and is aimed at hitting 'smallish' targets with a first round hit. Don't expect to use the WindDots and BDC holds to first round hit 'X's on paper... that is not what this reticle is designed for. However if you are engaging steel...

Rifle Scopes TReMoR 2 Reticle Manual/ Explanation

I've taken a long look at the TReMoR2, and although the WindDot is fast, it's not 100% really 'accurate'. The WindDot is based on a 'standardised 308' ballistic curve, without taking into account SpinDrift or Coriolis effect, which when shooting with a right twist barrel in the northern...

    Rifle Scopes Which Horus?

Will someone please shoot a 'Tall Target' type of test with a S&B 5-25 with a H59. If a 'Tall Target' test is used to check the calibration of turrets, surely a 'Grid Target' test would show how much distortion occurs on the edges of a scope when only using 'hold', and therefore we can actually...

Rifle Scopes How much magnification needed?

Maybe think of breaking that into 2... Get a 3-12 or 4-16 or max 5-25, and also get a spotting scope at 40x or even one of those new wireless camera systems that you can setup in front of the target. Then you get a scope for general usage, and you get the detail when shooting targets.

    Rifle Scopes h59 or TRMR2?

I've created a TReMoR2 calibration doc in excel. Here are the results for my .260 rem: Blue line and dots: TReMoR2 WindDots Cyan line: .260 in a 19mph wind (at 5th WindDot) Red lines: interpolated from Cyan Line Green dotted line: Beaufort scale mid points ...that's pretty darn close...

Rifle Scopes HELP ME! S&B 3-20 or 5-25 details in thread

I'm in exactly the same dilemma. I've got a 4-16 S&B P4f, which is a really nice scope, but I want a bit more magnification. I'm also looking at going the H59 route. Although I really think the TReMoR2 would be great for Practical Long Range shooting (once calibrated correctly), but it's useless...

Rifle Scopes 1-6x Optic for 3gun

samnev: That's great feedback. I figured as much... I'm seriously looking forward to it's arrival. I guess if I move my head too much, the scope will tell me I'm off... might even help teach me to keep my head down. As to the turrets; I'm not overly worried as it's a 3 Gun scope, and once set...

Rifle Scopes 1-6x Optic for 3gun

samnev: If you've not noticed it, then you've made me a happy man ! My Mk6 1-6 is on it's way, and the only negative that worried me were the many posts saying that if you move your head a bit, that the illumination of the reticle 'flickers'. I hoped that this was operator error, and if you have...
