Hello all! Just ordered my RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor. Going to get the NF ATACR F1 next paycheck. Tripod, case, etc. Paycheck after that.

Now, I'm looking into Observation Devices.

We need something that can see at least a mile (eventually upgrading rifles so I can hit the 1 mile target at my range), as well as recording ability.

What would everyone recommend?

Also, if you have "trends" for certain companies, I'd love to hear that as well, ("Company A tends to have great glass, but their cases are sh*t", "Company B has good equipment but you need to replace the _____", etc.)

You cannot a mike with that RPR, I’ve done it multiple times.

As far as spotters, what’s your budget?

Hensoldt Spotter 60
PLRF15C on top via the Ashbury mount -or- a RAPTAR ES mounted on the Badger rail system for the Spotter 60
Ashbury tripod -or- any of the RRS shorter tripods
Might as well get both a PVS30 to hang in front (via the Badger rail I mentioned) and a MonoLoc for a PVS14

Anything else and you're just poor or making excuses.

*cough* holy sh*t.....

Is 4k normal for a scope, or is that upper end?

It depends. There's spoitting scopes and equipment that will do fine for 100 yards. Then there's spotting scopes and equipment that are needed to be able to have high enough quality and resolution to where they aren't worthless at 1 mile like you had asked.

These 2 different types of scopes have 2 different types of prices.

Understood...I see it doesn't have a recording capability...how does one get that?
