Was given a Fajen thumbhole stock and a A&B barrel. The receiver is the issue.Has anyone had any experience with the Razor 80% unit or is there a better way to go. I will be using Kidd components throughout except for the receiver cuz the FFL,DROS,CA taxes add on additional $115 to a $200 finished unit.I just cant support the state this way!
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Haven't actually handled one, but the Razor looks like a pretty good way to go if you have the tools to complete it accurately. I will be ordering one in the next few months and I'll post a full build report. I'm currently building a 7.62x39 small ring mauser, so all of my time and funds are currently tied up in that.

Re: 10/22 build-CA style

Talked to Kidd early this week about a special run for the 80% group but they are too busy as things are. The Ruger receiver is a pretty simple unit, the after market manufacturers all seem to use 6061 alum, cnc machine, and use Rugers internal specs....... what can be different. Kidd told me the chamber pressures dont warrant 7075 alum that is why nobody uses it. Stainless is for cosmetics in this app.
Anzwolf...without the drill jig I dont think I care to go that route but I did see the GB on calguns.
snorules...Im sure glad these 10/22s are cheaper than the AR308 I just finished building!!!

The most critical part of the 20% is drilling the barrel hole, otherwise simple holes such as trigger group,v-block,etc. The template seems to be pretty damn accurate. There is a few great videos of the process
