Thanks to GAP and a host of other individuals, I was fortunate enough, or should I say very lucky, to become the owner of a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle. The rifle was raffled at The GAP Grind match that was held in October, and I was the lucky SOB whose name was drawn.

Yesterday I had a chance to sight-in the Kahles 624i and break-in the rifle. I used Hornady 140gr AMAX factory ammo. I wasn't expecting for it to shoot as well as it did. OG13, who is a SH member, will be the first to tell you that I am far from being a good shooter, especially when using a bipod.

The following are pictures of the first 5 shot groups out of the rifle at 100 yards, and few 5 shot groups at 200 yards. Cherry picking the best group is a practice I don't follow. It's obvious that I need to refine my shooting skills. The first group at 200 yards was horrible!!!

Overall, I am really happy with the rifle. I can't wait to see how it shoots with reloads.

A HUGE THANKS goes out to George and GAP, and Rich Emmons!!!!

Re: $100 GAP and Hornady Factory Ammo

As an owner of a GAP 6.5, I can tell you its actually pretty hard to roll your own round that will out shoot the factory Hornady 140s until you start reaching out pretty far. They have been amazingly reliable for me in all weather conditions. Its one of the caliber's best selling points IMO.
