Rifle Scopes 100yd Zero 50 MOA Base With S&B 5-25PM II It Happened!

So I just bought the new Ruger RPR 338 LM it comes with a 30 MOA rail and my SPUHR mount that I already had my S&B 5-25 in has 20 MOA built into it so that's 50 MOA of cant. I didn't think I would have a enough down elevation left to get a 100yd zero, but I got lucky and I was able to zero it at 100yds with I think very little left maybe 2-3 clicks. I ended up with 26 MILS of up elevation which I think is around 2200yds for the 338 LM. I will mostly be shooting it around 600-1000yds and occasionally 1760 yds. Anyway just wanted to share my experience sometimes you don't know until you try.

I was in the same boat with my PM2 on my old 300NM. 30MOA base and 20 MOA ARC QD mount. No issues zeroing at 100m

This is a little more cant than what is recommended for the 5-25 and at this point your erector spring is completely compressed. Do yourself and your scope a favor, before storing your rifle dial the elevation up to the transition of the second revolution. This will take some of the pressure off your erector spring and prolong its life.

Not to hijack but heck, this might be a good idea with any optic?

When mounted on an extreme cant such as 50 MOA it is definitely a good idea.

Hey thanks for the advice as soon as I get home this afternoon that is what I will do. I have had it like that for almost two weeks hope its still GTG.
