First off this is not say that one is better than the other, just a report on actual observations. Picked up some scraps from a butcher shop to compare 10mm and .45, I love both so again, I'm not trying to ruffle any feathers with this. Glock 20 shooting 155 grain Gold Dot at 1500fps and Sig P250 4" barrel shooting 185 grain Gold Dot at 1100fps. Shooting at 6 yards with target placed on top of a 5 gallon bucket. 10mm completely mangled the scraps and blew it off the bucket. .45 hardly moved it at all and did not have a lot of extra tissue damage beyond the wound channel. Both targets were almost identical in size, weight and appearance. I could almost put my fist in the wound channel the 10mm left, not to mention it showered me with debris. I love the .45 but it clearly does not have the same effect. Thought I would post this for anyone who cares. 10mm is not that popular, ammo is tough to get but its one hell of sidearm.
