Hello, I have been having a problem at the range lately, and I couldn't answer my question when searching. I have upgraded to a SWFA SS10x42. The rifle has been zero'd and I have spent a bit of time behind the scope ranging items and dry firing. All of these scenario targets are 400-600yrds away.

However when I am shooting at the range, which is limited to 100yrds, I cannot get the scope to focus. The entire field of view is out of focus.

I have re-adjusted the ocular focus several times now and played the the parallax a good bit, the odd thing however is that at anything over 100yrds the picture becomes clear and crisp.

Is 10x too much to focus at 100yrds? Or is there something else going on?

Thanks for the quick responses, I'll have to give the scope one more try. I re-set the ocular focus after I got home from the range, so I'll see if that did anything again.

If that doesn't work it'll have to go back to SWFA for warranty.

Yes I am, I just re-set it by adjusting it all of the way in, pointing it at a cloudless sky, and then look at the reticle for a few seconds making small adjustments until I get a sharp reticle with a relaxed eye.

I have repeated this procedure 3 times now to see if it fixes anything, but it hasn't. I have only messed with it once while shooting to see if it would make any difference, but all of the other times I leave it alone to where I adjusted it to.
