building my first AR 10 and it's got a 14.5" barrel with adjustable gas block. I ordered the strike industries ar-10 flat spring buffer spring and the thing is huge! 19.5" the buffer tube is a standard carbine length pws buffer tube so I guess my question is what buffer spring do I need for a carbine length ar-10 as the ar-10 spring I bought is way too big.

My experience is that those flat-wire springs will work in either rifle or carbine buffer tubes, but evidently not in your case. You can pick up the carbine length spring almost anywhere, Brownells, Midway, etc.
SI description says "compatible with all standard AR10/SR25 receiver extension lengths" which doesn't make sense to me but then again the flat spring in my SP10 w/ carbine extension is extremely long. Now I see their AR15 flat wire spring specifically says carbine length so I'm still confused.

Yeah that where I'm confused. 19.5" is a little extreme. I just ended up ordering a sprinco "orange" spring made specifically for 308 buffers in a standard carbine buffer tube. I'll probably just cut down the SI spring and run it in an AR 15
Ok so I went with the sprinco AR-10 carbine buffer spring. I went to test for the rifle with a can on it today. Fired one round did not eject and bolt would get stuck shut. The bolt carrier is the KAK double ejector bolt. Anyone have any idea why it's not cycling properly? The POF dictator adjustable gas block was pretty much shut.. kind of frustrating. Cycling the bolt manually thebspring seems heavy. Any ideas guys?
