My son shot his first deer this morning, a small Blacktail spike. He used 150 Hornaday Interbond's at 2950 Fps in a 30-06. It's actually a mule deer load but it was the only thing I had on hand for the rifle.
Anyway, the bullet entered just behind the right shoulder exactly where it was supposed to go. The deer was angled slightly away at 88yds and the bullet exited the left shoulder.
The bullet absolutely vaporized the left shoulder. I've seen bloodshot but this was nuts, the shoulder was just plain gone.
Anyone else experienced this with small deer and the Interbond?
Thanks, 41
