I'm so ready to shoot again ... ( I was at the last shoot )

Also, I have my 375CT up and running and, it's not so bad on steel, believe it or not... shot a 1/2" plate at 100yds and, it only made a slight pit on it at that range... may be ok to shoot 3/8 with at 1000+

Apparently, solids aren't that bad on plates as I'd have expected.

Of course, my, "go to" rifle is my 300wm... the 375 is a bit more exotic and, I've only just begun to get into that....

and... I may be moving to Terrell in a couple of months..... we just found an amazing property there with 10+ acres, a 50x40 barn, a seperate workshop, a pond and a creek running through it, and a beautiful home on it... we're going to look at it on Saturday... we may make an offer on it.

Either way, I'm going to sign up ASAP when this thing gets up and running. As it is, I'm less than an hour drive from you.

Get this thing up and running and, you'll have a hard time keeping me away.... If I buy this property... I'll only have a 350yd shot from the roof! LOL

I'm way up in the panhandle, and dispute the amount of land up here there is no range over 200 yards

. Just finishing up my .338lm and will have to go see family in Dallas and waxahachie!!

It is in north east of Kaufman on FM 2578, as of now it is a Sat-Sun only range.

Its open to any responsible adult who can pass a simple qualifier. Details on the website for pricing and qual info. I'll be back from the box on Saturday and going to hit the construction hard once I knock out some of my "honey do" list. The wife and the range make it tough to find enough time for both.

Unlike the majority of ranges in the DFW area, members can draw from a holster, shoot more than 1 round a second, set up and practice drills at any time. El Prez, 1-5, whats your poison? There will be a range officer on duty but mainly to help... not hinder. It should turn out real nice. I'll let you know once we are open full time (weekends). Ya'll stay safe.... Goose

I was out on the tractor today prepping the area that will be the 100 yard range. We are making progress on the improvements and once Adam returns the pace will quicken. We are looking forward to having everyone out for the open shoot in May.
I think the members will be pleased with the changes and find them worth the wait. Check the website frequently for updates.
We appreciate everyone's patience and look forward to having Adam back home.

There shouldn't be any conflicting info anywhere. The open shoot was no magnum calibers, so .308 .243 .260 etc. is all good. The shoot has been pushed back while we address an expected delay. I will reschedule the shoot as soon as I get a good date. Sorry for the delay but if you have ever built a 1500 yd range 30 min from Dallas then you understand... Thanks Goose

I'm in the process of moving to Dallas as we speak and have been wondering if there was going to be any thing convinient to the new place. I've been out of the game for a couple of years due to work and location and will definitely be interested in a membership later this summer if everything works out on the legal side for the range. Look forward to meeting some of y'all once we get moved in.

Short update for you guys interested and tracking whats going on with the case here. Both sides have submitted the briefs and it is in the Dallas Court of Appeals now. There is a panel of judges who look at the law and the case and write a nice big opinion in the law books about it; it is entirely in their hands now. There is no public docket or schedule for cases heard by the Appellate court so we have no time line for when this will be settled. Most best guesses from lawyers who deal with that court have put it before the end of the year so we may have it settled by X-mas and re-opening in 2013.
The NRA has decided to vote on funding SOME of my attorney expenses but they will not vote until January so we are excited about that help from them.
Thank all of you for your continued support, now that our "great leader" is back in office, plan B is to protect our right to bear arms and this range is right in the dead center of that issue.

I'm sure most of you guys are getting the updates on FB now days but if anyone still reads this thing here you go..

The Appellate Court has requested an oral argument set for Jan 22. I'm told this is standard operating procedure for cases that the court has never seen before and have no other case law to study for comparison. As most of you know, my attorney is a gun guy, he wrote the law in question, and mopped the floor with everyone at the initial hearing. He knows his stuff.

The other side collectively had about as much gun/ballistics knowledge as my sisters kids so no doubt they will be frantically hiring a team who knows anything about guns in hopes of putting together a coherent thought.

In the overall picture, this is not about safety. I know this because not one person has ever asked me what safety measures will be/are put in place. They do not want to know nor do they care. Everyone (the 2 people) who calls the law on us shares the same last name, they liked the property next door better when it was just a field. Classic fear of change is the real reason for all these shenanigans.

Most of y'all know me by now, been over here fighting 2 wars for the past 12 years, hell i'm over here right now. If I have not earned my own right to come home and start a responsible business by now then I've been fighting for all the wrong reasons. People don't have to "earn" their own constitutional rights, that is what makes America great, everyone gets them regardless. But I would like to think that I have, luckily for me I am a fighter and I'm taking this fight at home in stride and will continue to do so for as long as it takes.

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers over the past year, It has been fun. I will let you know how the court decides later next month. Goose
