I took my 16" LaRue OBR out to 1100 yards the other day with some very pleasing results. We started at 1000 and then moved to 1100. After 1000, it took 2 shots to get on steel at 1100. Out of 8 shots, I got 6 including the last 5 in a row. Both misses were just low right. The load is 42.2 of H4895, 175 SMK, CCI primers, and Rem brass. Here's a pic of the rifle and target:

We then painted it and make 56 more hits with 3 different .308 bolt guns and another full mag out of the OBR:

Next week, we're going to move a steel target to 1300 to wee how we can do there.

hey that's nice. ( 6 hits with 8 pulls ). My .308 with 22" barrel & 175's @ 2600 fps. really start getting very touchy right @ about 1025 yrd. and starts hitting the wall. So your doing everything right that day with that 16" barrel when Dropping them in @ 1100 yrd. and having a pretty good day.

Very impressive. I'm not really sold on that cheek riser deal for the CTR, though. Don't you find it inconvenient to always have to adjust the stock every time you want to charge the bolt?

Not really. In reality, I only charge the bolt once when shooting (unless something goes wrong). After the first charging, I just use the bolt release. If I had people shooting back at me, I'd put a PRS on there to allow for a good cheek weld and allow use of the charging handle. However, I only shoot at steel and paper men, and they don't shoot back.
