178 hornady match hpbt loads.

Hey just bought some 178 hornady match hpbt bullets and was hoping someone could share the load data out of the hornady manual for loads with imr 4895 and the velocities the book gives for .308 I appreciate the help!

33.8gr=2000fps
35.7gr=2100
37.5gr=2200
39.3gr=2300
41.1gr=2400 =MAX LOAD

Go to Hodgdon's reloading data center and look there for data. You can use 175 SMK data. Hodgdon site has data for Hodgdon, IMR and Winchester powders.

41.5-42.4 in a Winchester sized case is going to be magic. Don't over look 4064 either, it's what I now use with this bullet. I doubt I will using anything else...

Hit up the range today and these 178 bthp hornady march are awesome! Pulled my groups in about half inch from 168 Smk. Thx again for the info everyone!

For what it's worth, I use Reloader 17 for the 178 A-Max (can't get the 178 match). At 47.5 gn with match prepped Winchester brass and a Fed 210(M) I get 2,678fps and regularly shoot in the 3's at 100 yards
I shot this group today. It may look like 2, but that is 4 shots!

Nice! I don't know how fast I'm shooting I don't have a chronograph yet but it's in the very near future! I might start shooting the a-max because I want a hunting round that I shoot well accurately.

That's precisely what I shot that group, and many others like it, with. Just an SPS Varmint in an adjustable McMillan A5 with a Timney trigger, NighForce 20 MOA base, and a Nikon Monarch 4-16x50. They are amazingly accurate rifles for the money.

HillBilly, may i suggest that you not make the same mistake I did when I bought my chrono. I did not do much research, and bought a Shooting Chrony Beta Master. it works well enough now, but it's been back to the factory twice to get it that way. If I had to do it all over again I would get the CED Millenium II, and fuhgetaboutit. I've used 2 of them and they're hands down the best you can get this side of Oehler or Neco. They cost about $60 more than the Beta Master. A buddy just got the MagnetoSpeed chrono that straps to the end of your bbl. It's quite the trick piece of kit.

I'm shooting a TRG22/308/20". My load is 178gr BTHP/44.3gr of Varget/Lapua Brass/Fed 210M. Runs 2620 fps out of my 20"+Suppressor. Its a .5MOA combo when I do my part.

Forgot to add, since its a TRG with its deep mag( front to back), I'm loading long at 2.92" COAL.
