Thought we needed a picture thread of 1911's! Please don't post a comment without a picture; we'll start off with mine!

The more wear and dirt the better!

1911

Colt Series 70 reissue. Totally gutted down to the frame and slide then filled with goodness. Finally, Melanized inside and out. 18,500 rounds. Outside of changing the recoil springs every 3K as preventative maintenance, no parts breakage. Third barrel with a Kart in it now.

Buzzsaw,

I noticed you have a Commander LW too. I may be wrong but those were mid-1960 model Colts, correct ?

I really love mine as it was my Dad's yet I'm not looking to modify it to the extent you did (which by the way is awesome).

However, I would like to swap out the plastic grips for something really nice like polished rosewood.

Could you or anyone else suggest where I could find what I'm looking for ?

Thanks in advance.

This is our Hartwig model. Commander sized pistol.

This is a threaded barrel version, commander size, all hand fit parts, this one is finished in graphite cerakote. with our new 5-11 cases coming with the guns.

And a stainless Gov't size standard pistol

My 70 Series (or Pre 80's series) Combat Commander in 9mm. I would like to have some work done to it, but I'm told this is a somewhat rare gun so I'm undecided if I want to alter it from the factory original shape it's in now.

My highly modified Ruger SR1911. Got rid of all the blue steel control components and generally replaced with Wilson Combat Bulletproof stainless.
