Re: 1961 Guns magazine with article about Gary Cooper
Thanks for sharing. Coop was my favorite actor. He actually taught Pablo Picasso how to shoot a handgun. Pop Hemingway was a good friend of his as well. If you have never seen the movie 'The Fountainhead' I highly recommend it. The screenplay was taken from the 1943 Ayn Rand novel of the same name. When Howard Roark (Cooper) gives his closing argument in the courtroom, he gives a speech that should be required reading for all free men. When you mention dudes like Gary Cooper and Elmer Keith, yer talkin about my heroes!

Nice read. I enjoyed seeing the ads where M1 Garands were going for $79 and Mausers for $27. Also, the Pachmayr Lo-Swing scope mount.. impressive idea.

That was a good read, Mac, thanks!
When enough years had come between him and WWI so he was ready to see a movie made about his heroics, Alvin C. York only had one demand. His role had to be played by Cooper.
