has anyone mixed up there twice fired and other fired brass beyond twice fired and seen a noticable difference? I havent done a test myself and dont have the time to lately to find out but I was curious. What made the question pop to mind is that my wife accidentally mixed my brass that I had sorted when we were moving.

Re: 2 times fired VS 3 times fired brass

Yesterday after the F-Class match, we were shooting eggs at 600. After running out of the once fired, neck sized brass I was using in the match, I switched to ammo I had loaded with new brass. The impact was less than 1/8th moa difference from the once fired brass. The difference in case capacity from new to once fired would be much greater than that of once fired and twice fired, so I don't think you will notice the difference.

I wouldnt think there would be much of a difference if any from twice fired to three times fired brass, but in my experience, new to once fired has a huge difference. It might just be the brass im using (Lapua .308 cases), but I almost feel like its a waste of my bullets and powder to fire them new because I get no accuracy or consistency with them being brand new. Ive always read that Lapua brass is much softer than others, so I can see how there could be pressure differences when there new.

Lapua brass is harder than pretty much any other brass. You can even hear that is is harder when fired cases jingle together as in your thigh pocket.
Are you expanding and inside deburring the inside of the new necks?
New lapua brass has always shot very well for me with this minimal prep. they have then shot very well and to the same poi for several more firings.

I didn't mention it, but I am also using Lapua brass. If you expand the necks(always a good idea to remove any dents) it usually shoots fine. I have noticed that my ammo loaded with fired brass groups tighter, so that is all I use in competition.
