I bought this rifle new last year, it is my first rifle and I just started hunting/shooting last deer season.
I shot my first buck close to 300yds and have been hooked on shooting distance ever since.
I started reloading to get better accuracy and just love my new hobby.
Browning X Bolt 30-06 Synthetic Hunter 22" medium contour 1:10 twist barrel
Nikon 4.5-14x40 Buckmaster Mildot side focus paralax
168 Amax 57.5 gr IMR 4350 estimate 2875 fps
I found my load and finally took it out for some distance shooting this past weekend.
I used a 40" silhouette target and 12x18" torso splatter targets stapled to a pallet I propped up.
I use a spreadsheet made with Methods and formulae developed by Prof. Arthur J Pejsa.
I practice rangefinding with the mildot and dont think I will get a rangefinder ever, I like this method and am pretty good with it so far.
200yd range and target 4 shot group
350 yd range & target shot at head and mid, adj for wind and shot target next to Head( hostage taker face)
N DA FACE!
400 rd range and target
500yd range and target
all in all, I am really happy with myself and the rifle, next time I will use smaller aim points so to tighten up groups, aim small miss small right.
Thanks
