I have had my best deer season yet. I got a cowhorn (90lb) and an 8pt (160lb) in the same afternoon hunt. Then the next Thursday I got a 132lb doe. Two bucks with neck shots on WMA land and the doe at a private club. All with my match rifle and 130gr Norma’s in 6.5CM. I keep setting up for long shots but they keep walking out at less than 100yds. Oh well.

Just got back from Wyoming antelope hunt yesterday afternoon. Had a great time this year - weather was about as nice as you could ask for.

Got this buck the first evening of the hunt, always wanted one with horns that sort of pitch forward so this guy did, plus he had good height and decent mass for the unit I hunt. Rifle is a Tikka Superlite in a Hunters Edge stock, S&B PM II 10x42 scope shooting factory 120 grain BT's.

Also filled a couple doe tags in another unit shooting my trusty Kampfeld Customs built .243 loaded with Fusion 95 grain ammo. Works great on antelopes:)

Went to shoot prairie dogs last saturday & since I got there early I decided to walk into the wind over a couple hills & try to howl a coyote in, coyote responded over a huge hill but never showed so I walked a mile around that huge hill & howled again, he responded close & popped up on a ridgeline 155 yds away. I popped him in chest with 105 grain Amax, no exit.

Spanked a good one this morning. Not real big compared to most of y'all, but he's the biggest one I've taken in my life so far. Bout 4 hours ago and I'm still all spun up. And he's the first I've ever taken without my dad being there. I could feel him watching and hear his voice. What an experience! Oh and the combo of my HMR and some factory ELD-X worked out every bit as good as I could hope for.

1st deer for my 8yo. Got to the stand before sun up, sat through 2” of rain. Hope was lost. He took a nap. Woke up and shot at a crow and missed. Then at 4pm the sun came out and a deer popped into the field at 105yds.

Quartering towards, he shot and the deer ran 35 yards 3 legged out of site. Turns out he hit him before the shoulder took out the heart and exited behind opposite shoulder. We were stoked. He said it was the best day of his life!

Tc encore .223 64gr win power core.

Edit:
I asked if his bullet hit where he was aiming..........
He says no! I said where were you aiming then? He says right at the head!

Then said he was joking !

2019 Wyoming Antelope with my 17 YO nephew. We both got our bucks using the 6.5-06 AI that I just built before the trip. I have been using the 6.5 Creedmoor for the last several years with very good success, but I wanted to push the 143 ELD-X a little faster than the 2720 fps that I get out of the Creedmoor. I didn't have a lot of time for load development, but ended up getting 3110 fps so far.

Model 70 classic, Krieger Barrel 1:8, B&C stock.
