Was thinking about getting a nice 22 for messing around the range. Whats a good accurate gun for around $500 or less.

Are you wanting something semi auto or a bolt gun?
Tactical configuration or a Fud Gun?
CZ makes some nice 22 rifles for the money.

I'm wanting a bolt gun. I have a couple semi autos and a lever action but have never owned a bolt 22. Thanks for the link above.

I have a savage. It is fine, I like it. I think the best bang for the buck would be a CZ though. I got my savage used, with laminate stock, bull barrel, cheap scope and sling for $125 out the door is why I have it. It is a shooter though, but I think not like the CZs I have seen.

i tried keeping something together, but a sticky would hopefully stop alot of repeat posts only a few days apart. would be nice to have a sticky or two to take care of the basics:
newbies and search function
EASIER TO FIND STUFF - sniper's hide google search
starting a trainer
basic newbie questions about rifle selection
1st rimfire build up
22 scope+ mounts+rings threads
22 ammo threads
22 rifle accessories
yet again....
i tried keeping something together, but a sticky would hopefully stop alot of repeat posts only a few days apart. would be nice to have a sticky or two to take care of the basics:

Either CZ or Savage Mk II would work. My Savage MkII BTV is the berries. I'm also wanting to see how the new MkII TR is going to shake out.
