Selling off my Remington 700 to get something more usefull. Going to invest in a Savage Mark2 TR in .22LR. My area has maybe at most 200-300 yards that I can shoot and being a college student funding is limited so ammo price is a big factor as well.
-Rifle choice is set in stone
-EGW base (moa depends if scope has enough adjustment to use a 20moa)
-Weaver 4 hole rings (unless you suggest something else)
My problem comes in selecting a good piece of glass that meets my needs. Finger turrets, mil dot reticle, repeatable, ~$150-200
Did some research and kinda narrowed it down to the Mueller 4.5-14×40AO Tactical and the Barska 3-12x40 Tactical. I've heard good things about both and pretty much the same complaint about both, eye relief and glass clarity at certain magnifications.
I dont plan on submersing my scope/rifle in water or shooting in low light conditions. Pretty much only going to be a paper puncher for training purposes and possibly small competitions at 25-200 yards. Can I go wrong with either? Other Suggestions?
