220 grain in 1:11 twist 300 Win Mag TRG?

I'm relatively new to reloading and I just ordered 220 gr Sierra Matchking for my TRG 42 300 win mag. twist is 1:11; length is 27 1/8. Does anyone know if this barrel will stabilize this bullet, or have success with this?

You should be just fine. 208 amax's (which I believe are longer) stabilize in most 1:12 twists at 308 velocities. Your running them faster in a faster twist and I believe it's a shorter bullet.

I think it will work, but you are cutting it close. Only way to know is to try it. No way to predict.

not sure on the 220smk ,but it will stabilize 225 hornady's but there not available at this point,
(and that is probably why the 220 ?)when they do show up grab a few they have a better bc then the smk.
let us know how the 220's do.
and if you can't get h1000 try some retumbo it's a little dirtier but works well with the heavy 220+ bullets

Thanks for the replies. . I do have h1000 and I'm gonna try the 220 out..luckily though I jumped on the 208 amax when they popped up on midway last night after I already bought 100 of the smk's

Yeah that was why the 220. I couldn't find anything else and I was itching to shoot.

the litz book shows the 220 SMK 11 twist likely but not sure - the 208 AMAX possible but unlikely

where do you go for some distance with the Win mag?
