Thank youHere is some data I got from Berger bullets support team.
I'm not sure, I didn't have it built.25-06 should get the 135 Bergers moving at a good speed, what is the length of the throat?
What do you mean 6.5 creed performance? A 25-06 with the correct twist and throat will destroy a 6.5 creed.Man, that's a long way to go to get right back to 6.5 creed performance.
A 140 at 2800 in a 6.5 creed is hot Staball in the only powder I see that gets there in sami pressure. I didn't check RL26.A 140 at 2800 is very reasonable with a 6.5 creed, so if I'm reading the chart correctly, it looks like you're trying to get a 135gr to the same speed.
Rl26 is the powder, and you can get it to well beyond 2800. 3,000+ if you can believe the folks who have tested it.A 140 at 2800 in a 6.5 creed is hot Staball in the only powder I see that gets there in sami pressure. I didn't check RL26.
A 25 caliber 135 is smaller in diameter than a 6.5mm 140, so it has potential to be a lighter bullet with a higher ballistic coefficient.
I can do math fella, the 3% I mentioned is the difference between the max velocity I posted above in the 6.5creed vs the (possible) velocity you mentioned above for the 25-06 (you said way over 3100, but nothing close to that appears in the data listed above, so I used your number of 3,100)..My 280 will easily do 2900 with a 139 with Varget. With H4350 or H4831Sc I would expect to be able to get 3100, in my 21" barrel.
Diminishing velocity returns as the powder column gets bigger, ya thats how it works. Welcome to reloading.
3 percent of 2800 is 84.
There is no replacement for cubic displacement.
No, you can't get well beyond 2800 in safe pressure. If you go to alliant's sight their loads for the 264 win mag for 140s are 3000fps or less. Any over pressure you can push with small case you can push with a big case.Rl26 is the powder, and you can get it to well beyond 2800. 3,000+ if you can believe the folks who have tested it.
And that's a 135gr A-tip. I haven't done the research, but I'd be really surprised if that .25 berger 135 has a higher bc than that atip
