I bought a custom .260 REM about a month ago that was made by Randy at R&D Precision and so far this has been my best load.

    40.7grs of H4350

    130 VLD

    REM .260 BRASS

    FGMM 210M

    COAL. 2.785

    Shoots a 5 shot group just under .3 @ 100yds

Its a near perfect load, but it's a bit on the slow side @ 2600 fps

Im looking for a faster load with the same accuracy..SO SHOW THEM IF YOU GOT' EM.

Yes I have done ladder test for my 130 and 140 VLD's but I have not had a chance to test the 139 Lapua Scenar or the 142 SMK. and it's also nice to see what other people are haing success with.

Definitely spend some time reading the 260 loads thread.

Quick n dirty: 42-44gr H4350 with a 140gr bullet, adding one grain for 130gr bullets and another grain for 123s. RP brass will need more powder than Lapua to achieve a given velocity.

Also, 2.785" OAL with 130ger Bergers seems very short to me, unless you have a short throated barrel for loading BDL mag length.

I am shooting the same set up. 260 Rem,130 Berger VLD with 44.5 grains of H4350 and CCI200 primers. I am getting 2957 fps average and .5" or less groups when I am on. I can push mine to 45 grains with slight ejector marks, but backed it off. I have yet to pay with the jump and it is set to mag length for now. But read the other threads on the 260 here, there is a lot of good info. I also tried RL17 and got great velocity but it was very touchy in accuracy.

My 140 grain load is almost identical to yours...just running the Amaxs. It too is a little on the slower side at just a hair under 2700 fps. But it was so damn accurate, I stopped at 40 grains H4350...

I found CCI primers gave me better spreads and better accuracy in my 260, I also recommend when things come back to normal switching to Win 7-08 brass resized to 260Rem, Rem brass shoots good but only last 5-6 loads and the primer pockets let go, Win brass lasts 15-20 with annealing.
139 Scenar at the lands to about .010 away
    140 Amax .015 to .025 away
142 SMK .030 to as much jump as your mag will allow
Keep adding H4350 until you get any of these to 2775 2825

i have the same caliber build by the same smith (R&D precision)
    1:8 barlein 24' mtu
    using h4350 42.7 on 140 smk and 139 scenar 42.8
    FED 210m primer
    lapua brass
    oal 2.87 (.015 off land)

Are you and war eagle running custom reamed chambers? That's longer than my 2.855 140 amax load, and i had the throat extended .060 over spec.

It's a DTA factory barrel. To the lands is 2.912 says my Hornady o.a.l. guage which gives me .017 jump, assuming everything is square. I have no pressure signs and groups well. At 47gr I was getting slight extractor marks.
