Looking for some loads for 165gr in a 270 Sam I am on the coast so my hunting ranges from sea level to around 2000 ft. Anybody got any good loads worked up? Thanks Danny.

I would take a look over at longrangehunting.com. i have seen quite a bit of data over there. A guy by the name of bigngreen runs the 165 matrix out of his wsm. Alot of guys are having good luck with h1000 and retumbo. Hope this helps.

I've been playing with the 165 gr pills a little. Have loaded with Win760 (55.4 gr, 2.962 OAL) for single loading in my Winchester 70. Have not put them over a chronograph - no help there - but accuracy was good from the hunting rifle at 150 ft above sea level and 49f. Have also played with the 175s just enough to know that 55 grains of Win760 starts to have sticky extraction in my rifle. Putting additional development of the matrix bullets on hold pending some different powders.

Put the 165 Matrix over the chronograph today, came in at 2830fps.
